EVENT: 3rd C. Layne Williams Invitational

 

SITE: Ansley Golf Club - Settindown Creek

 

DATE: November 14-15, 2026

 

FIELD SIZE: 40 players.  The top 4 players from each of 10 different Player of the Year categories will be invited to compete.  If a player occupies a spot in multiple categories, they will have the option to choose which category they wish to compete in.  The CLW Invitational points lists can be found by clicking on the following link: CLW Invitational Points Lists 

 

FORMAT: 36 holes of all vs. all individual stroke play.  New for 2026: There will also be a team competition for the lowest scoring player category.  All four players scores will count towards the team total.

 

PRACTICE ROUND:

 

  • Registration for practice rounds on Friday, November 13 will take place through Golf Genius beginning October 27 at 12:00 p.m.  Invitations will be sent to players when registration opens.  Practice round times on Friday will range from 12:00-1:30 p.m.
  • Players not able to play a practice round on Friday, November 13 will be able to make alternate arrangements with the club up to two weeks prior to the competition.  Players must call the club if needing to play a practice round on a date other than Friday, November 13.

 

CADDIES: Caddies will not be permitted for this competition.

 

YARDAGES & TEES: A combination of tee markers and yardages will be used. Practice yardage sheets will be available under the Player Information tab on the event portal by the end of October.

 

  • Yardage books will be provided complimentary to players as part of the player gift package. 

 

GOLF SHOP & DRIVING RANGE: Open at 7:30 a.m. each day of competition.

 

STARTING TIMES: Assigned by GSGA and posted on the event portal starting November 9th.  Starting times will range from 8:30-10:18 a.m. each day.

 

REGISTRATION: Formal registration will be held onsite at Ansley GC - Settindown Creek on Friday, November 13th beginning at 10:00 a.m.  Withdrawals must be called or emailed to the Official In Charge listed above.

 

FOOD SERVICE:

 

 

  • All players are invited to the "Celebration of Champions" event immediately following practice rounds on Friday, November 13 to take place at Ansley Golf Club - Settindown Creek. Separate invitation to come October 1.

 

  • Lunch will be provided for players after rounds 1 & 2 of the competition.

 

PRIZES: A trophy will be presented to the overall winner. Gift certificates will be awarded to the top 5 overall finishers and each player of the winning team in the team competition. 

 

HOTEL ACCOMMODATIONS: There is no room blocks set up for players and guests but below is a list of suggested hotels in the area and rates. Direct website links for these hotels can be found under the travel info tab at the top. 

  • Holiday Inn Express and Suites, Atlanta N - Woodstock ($130 - $160 a night)
  • Hyatt Place - Atlanta/Alpharetta/North Point Mall ($90 - $110 a night)

 

 

REFUND POLICY:

 

  • A $30 service charge will be retained by the GSGA on all refunds granted prior to the close of entries.

 

  • Entry fees will not be refunded after entries close unless there is a waiting list and your spot can be filled.

 

  • Withdraws after the close of entries must be made by calling or emailing the Official In Charge listed above.
