Attached you will find information for the 2026 IGA Four-Ball Championship.  The 30th playing of this championship will be contested at Spencer Golf & Country Club. 

**Please read all information in this memo carefully before calling the IGA office**.

 

SCHEDULE:

Friday, May 1st – First Round, 18 holes 

Saturday, May 2nd – Final Round, 18 holes 

 

PLEASE NOTE: Anticipating a full field, we will have morning and afternoon waves off of both #1 and #10 for both days. The morning wave will consist of tee times from 8:00 a.m. to 9:39 a.m. and the afternoon wave will consist of tee times between 12:25 p.m. and 2:04 p.m. Tee times and pairings for the first round have been released on the event website.

 

PRACTICE ROUNDS: Players can schedule practice rounds any time by calling the golf shop at 712-262-2028. Practice round rates will be $49.00+ tax (includes cart) per player.

 

SCORING & SCOREBOARDS:  For this Championship players will be given their official scorecard (paper scorecard) on the starting tee.  The official scorecard must have the player’s signature (one signature representing the side), along with their marker, and 18-hole scores in appropriate boxes.  Players are asked to return their scorecard immediately following their round.   In addition, we will also be utilizing live scoring using the Golf Genius mobile app.  One player in each group will be asked to record the scores of the group for the live leaderboard.  Scores inputted using the mobile app are UNOFFICIAL and are for entertainment purposes only. 

 

FOUR-BALL SCORING:  Rule 23.2b: Please make sure hole scores are INDIVIDUALLY IDENTIFIABLE to the person who made that score.  (See Attachment)

 

COURSE SETUP:  Attached you will find the most likely course setup sheet for the championship.  This is unofficial and subject to change based on course conditions, weather, etc.

 

REGISTRATION TABLE:  There will be a registration table set up near the golf shop entrance on Friday, May 1st. Please check in when you arrive.  You will receive the Notice to Players, hole location sheet, and any other necessary materials for the day’s competition. You will not need to check in at registration for Round Two – you can proceed directly to your starting tee about 10 minutes prior to your starting time.

 

GOLF CARTS: Carts are not mandatory for this event.  If you wish to take a cart, the fee for all championship rounds will be $40.00 per cart per round ($20 per person) - note for this event, rental is the $40 rate whether one or two seats are used. Cart fees must be paid directly to the Spencer G&CC pro shop.  A maximum of two carts will be allowed for any and all groups. IGA Officials have the discretion to consolidate players onto one cart whenever they deem it necessary.  Caddies and/or spectators are not guaranteed to ride! Carts must be returned to the cart staging area immediately upon completion of your round. Under no circumstance should a contestant return to the course on the cart used during his round. If you wish to become a spectator and to watch play, you must walk to do so as the cart rental you pay is for your round of golf only. Players are permitted to bring their own golf cart and use it during the championship at no additional cost!

 

RANGE: Range balls will be compliments of the IGA.  The Range will be open an hour before the first tee time each morning.

 

CADDIES: Contestants may bring a caddie and the caddie is subject to all the regulations of the Championship including dress code requirements. We will issue caddies a caddie bib upon arrival.  Caddies MUST wear the caddie bib during play to help identify who is performing the duties of a caddie. We will NOT allow for extra carts for the sole purpose of caddies riding – with 80 teams playing, carts are at a premium! 

 

PLEASE NOTE: The Rules of Golf permit a player to receive assistance from only one person at a time!  (Rule 10.3a) Players should caution friends, family, and spectators that the only person allowed to assist them during play is the person designated as their caddie. A person driving a cart with the player's clubs on it, for example, is assisting a player. Please be sure to avoid any confusion concerning who is performing the duties of a caddie for you during play.


PERSONAL APPEARANCE:  Proper golf attire is mandatory for players, caddies, and spectators; the committee reserves the right to determine whether this requirement is met. Competitors may be required to change clothing in order to compete. Shorts are permitted, provided they are Bermuda length or longer.  Shirts without collars, gym shorts, sweat pants, nylon running pants, and denim shorts or pants are not permitted. Please advise those who will be attending as guests and spectators that these requirements must be observed.

 

The IGA would like to thank Adam Coates, PGA Head Golf Professional, Justin Nolta, Golf Course Superintendent, and the entire staff at Spencer G&CC for their help and hospitality in accommodating us all.  As a competitor, please take the time to thank them as well.
