2026 Men’s State Amateur Championship

Entry Fee: $410 ($426 credit or debit)

Registration Deadline: Exempt Players – Monday May 18, 2026    Non-Exempt Players - Wednesday, May 20, 2026

* Please note that following the Exempt Player Deadline any Non-Exempt Players on the Waiting List will be used to fill those spots in the Championship.

 Eligibility: Competitors are required to have an active GHIN Handicap through a USGA Licensed Mississippi Club. Competitors must be bona fide residents of Mississippi for at least 60 days prior to the first round of the Championship. All must conform with the USGA Rules of Amateur Status.

Qualifying: There are no Qualifiers scheduled for the 2026 Mississippi Amateur. Registration is open to the first 120 players that register. 

2026 Winner will receive exemption into the 2026 US Amateur Championship

Format: Field size is limited to 120 players. The tournament is scheduled for 72 holes of individual stroke play with a cut to the low 60 plus ties after 36 holes of play. If conditions necessitate the championship being shortened, it will be done at the conclusion of a stipulated round.

Practice Round: Practice rounds are available on Wednesday, June 3rd. Please note that only one(1) Practice Round per player at a discounted rate ($75) is permitted. 

Player Check-In: There will be Player Check-In on Wednesday, June 3rd from 10:00AM - 4:00PM outside of the golf shop. Players will need to check-in in order to receive their tee gift. Players who do not receive their tee gifts prior to the start of the Championship will receive them from an MGA staff member following Round 1 play in the scoring area.

Cart Fees: All cart and green fees are included in the tournament entry fee.

* MGA Cart Policy - there will be a maximum of 2 carts per group and 2 individuals per cart. * 

Spectator Carts: Spectator carts will not be permitted during this championship with the exception of a spectator who can provide an issued and active Handicap Permit. Final decision will be made by the MGA Staff and also the availability of carts at the host facility. 

Caddies: Caddies are permitted during the championship. Players are responsible for supplying their own caddie.

**Caddies must walk at all times.**

Pairings: Pairings for the opening round will be released and updated on the MGA website by Wednesday, May 27th. Pairings will also be included in the Player Information that will be emailed to each player by Wednesday, May 27th. 

Electronic Measuring Devices: Electronic devices that measure distance only are permitted for this championship. 

Withdrawal Policy: In the event of a tournament withdraw; the player must notify the Mississippi Golf Association Office at 601-939-1131. If withdraw is made prior to tournament deadline, the player may receive a refund regardless of reason less a $25 administrative fee. For a withdraw made after the entry deadline, the player WILL NOT receive a refund unless the player has experienced a sudden illness or injury, a signed Doctor's note is provided, and only if the Mississippi Golf Association is notified prior to the first round of the tournament.
