Local Rules and Information Sheet
TEE MARKERS: USGA FORMAT: 18-holes, stroke play
QUALIFIERS: 5 ALTERNATES: 2
TIES & PLAYOFFS: In the event of a tie for the final qualifying spot and/or any alternate position, a hole-by-hole playoff will be conducted immediately following play.
EVACUATION PLAN: In the event play is suspended for a dangerous situation (lightning), players are to return to the Clubhouse. The signal for a suspension due to a dangerous situation is one (1) prolonged horn blast, repeated.
SCORING AREA: The Scoring Area is located in the foyer inside the Clubhouse on the lower level outside the Golf Shop.
Rules are governed by the Rules of Golf, USGA Terms of Competition, Notice to Competitors,
Memo to Players and the following local rules. Disregard all local rules printed on the local card.
DRINKING WATER & REST AREAS:
Drinking Water: May be found at or near the teeing areas of Holes #1, 3, 5, 7, 10, 12, 14 & 16.
Rest Areas: In addition to the Clubhouse, rest areas are near the 4th, 9th, 10th and 11th greens and between holes #14-16.
DISTANCE MEASURING DEVICES: Per the USGA Terms of Competition, distance measuring devices ARE permitted. However, information gained from their use must be limited to DISTANCE ONLY.
PACE OF PLAY/UNREASONABLE DELAY (RULE 5.6): Players are expected to play without delay, and groups are expected to remain in position with the group immediately in front of it. Timing sheets showing the time by when each hole must be completed are posted on the Qualifying webpage. Groups who fall out of position will be WARNED (First breach) and are subject to monitoring and timing by a Rules official. Players are expected to play a stroke within 40 seconds from when it is their time to play. Players who receive a bad time after being warned will receive One penalty stroke. Players who receive a second bad time will receive Two penalty strokes. The expected pace of play is 4:36 for 18 holes. Penalty for Breach of Rule 5.6a: First breach: Group Warning; Second breach: One penalty stroke; Third breach: Two penalty strokes; Fourth breach: DISQUALIFICATION.
GROUND UNDER REPAIR: In addition to the areas circled by white lines, the following are treated as ground under repair:
- Sod seams of newly sodded areas (although, the new sod IS NOT ground under repair)
- The Turf Nursery areas adjacent to Holes #3 and 16 (No Play Zones)
ELEVATED POWER LINES: Model Local Rule E-11 is in effect for the Qualifier. If a ball strikes an overhead power line during play, the player MUST cancel and replay the stroke.
DROPPING ZONES: Have been provided as follows:
- Hole #2: Forward teeing area for a ball in the penalty area;
- Hole #2: Behind the green right for an unplayable ball against the boundary fence behind the green;
- Hole #17: Forward teeing area for a ball in the penalty area.
OUT OF BOUNDS: Boundaries are defined by white stakes, property fences and lines as well as the edge of pavement of the parking lot and flower beds adjacent to the clubhouse.
PENALTY AREAS: When both are present, stakes identify and lines define a Penalty Area.
