2026 Highland Horse Race

The Highland Horse Race will take place on Saturday, September 26, 2026. This is an invite-only event, starting with last year’s participants, followed by invitations to those with the lowest Golf Canada verified handicaps.

Event Details:

• Registration: Returning members that played in last years event will receive the invite to play again this year in May. All remaining spots will be filled by invite only, based off lowest handicapped players receiving the right to play first, going down the Golf Canada roster until filled.
• Registration fee: $20 per player (cash)
• Eligibility: Invite-only (see above)
• Format:
  • All players together: 19 participants play in a single group
  • Elimination per hole: The highest gross score on each hole is eliminated
  • Tiebreakers: Sudden-death chip-off determines elimination in case of a tie
  • Last player standing: Play continues until one champion remains on the 18th green
• Spectating: Eliminated players are encouraged to watch the rest of the action

This is a fun, competitive event designed to keep everyone engaged, even after elimination.
