~ The 2026 SDGA Men's Amateur Champion will receive an exemption into the 2026 U.S. Amateur Championship, August 10-16 at Merion Golf Club ~

 

~ The Top-2 Finishers (plus ties) in the 2026 SDGA Men's Amateur Championship will receive an exemption into Final Qualifying for the 2027 U.S. Amateur Championship ~

 

FORMAT: 54-Holes - Individual Stroke Play

• Early Buy Entry Fee: $185 by June 10 (SAVE $25)

• Entry After June 10: $210 

• Final Entry Deadline: July 1

• Refund Deadline (90%): July 4 

 

MAX CHAMPIONSHIP FIELD SIZE: 156

 

FLIGHTING: Players will be flighted after 36 holes. Men’s Championship Flight will be the low 20 scores and ties. Women’s Championship Flight will be determined based upon the field size.

 

SDGA MEN'S MATCH PLAY EXEMPTIONS: The Top-3 finishers in the Championship not already exempt will receive an exemption into the 2026 SDGA Men’s Match Play Championship at Moccasin Creek CC on July 30-August 2. The Champion also receives an exemption into the 2027 SDGA Match Play Championship.

 

SDGA ELIGIBILITY: 

SDGA Championship registration is open to amateur golfers with an active Handicap Index™ issued by a current SDGA Member Club and plays the majority of their golf in South Dakota. In addition the player must either: 1) have a permanent physical address in South Dakota, or 2) maintain full-time employment within the state. 

 

An out-of-state student physically attending college in South Dakota and enrolled in the current year’s spring, summer, or fall classes with an active Handicap Index™ issued by a current SDGA Member Club is eligible.
