41st WPGA Mid-Amateur Championship
Conducted by the Western Pennsylvania Golf Association
Tuesday, September 8, 2026 - Fox Chapel Golf Club, Pittsburgh, PA
This notice serves as confirmation for the 2026 WPGA Mid-Amateur Championship on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at Fox Chapel Golf Club. The competition is 36 holes of Stroke Play. Play is governed by the USGA Rules of Golf.
Format: 36-holes of stroke play. Play is governed by The Rules of Golf and any Local Rules and Conditions distributed prior to play. In the event of a tie for the championship, a hole-by-hole playoff will take place on holes to be determined by the Committee.
Tee Markers: All play is from the White WPGA tee markers. The course will play par 70 at approximately 6,700 yards depending on conditions and is subject to change.
Pace of Play: The maximum allowable time will be four hours and twenty minutes (4:20). A checkpoint system will be in place for the qualifying round.
Practice: Practice rounds are available on Saturday, August 29th from 3:00pm to 5:00pm and Tuesday, September 1st from 4:00pm to 5:00pm. Practice rounds must be prearranged by email only at golfshop@foxchapelgolfclub.com. Practice round fee is $100 which includes cart and can be paid in the golf shop upon arrival or can be billed back to a club. A forecaddie will be required, which can be paid approx $120 per bag. Fox Chapel Golf Club reserves the ability to pair up players to allow for more people to access the course.The Golf Professional is Tyler Smith. Practice round fees are the responsibility of the player. Practice range balls are complimentary the morning of the competition.
Transportation/Caddies: Transportation is permitted and is included in the entry fee. Push carts are permitted for the Championship. Players may bring their own caddies. Caddies must walk in performance of their duties.
Footwear: Prohibiting Use of Certain Types of Shoes: Model Local Rule G-7 as prescribed in Section 8 of the Committee Procedures is in effect. Spikes of any design that are entirely or partially made of metal, if such metal may come in contact with the course, is prohibited.
Food: Lunch is provided between rounds and is included in the entry fee. All other food and beverage charges are the responsibility of the play.

Evacuation Plan: In the event of a suspension of play for a dangerous situation, all players should return immediately to the clubhouse.
Note: A suspension for a dangerous situation will be signaled by one prolonged air horn note. All other types of suspension will be signaled by three consecutive air horn notes, repeated. Resumption of play will be signaled by two short air horn notes, repeated.
Spectator Info: No spectator carts will be permitted for the round without being pre-approved by the WPGA. Please note that pre-approved carts are subject to club availability and course conditions.
