Entries Close: Wednesday, July 22 @ 5pm
Late entries are not accepted.
The following players will be invited to compete in the Cronheim Cup provided they submit their entry prior to the closing date and meet all eligibility requirements. The starting field will be capped at 78 total players (51 boys and 27 girls). If space remains, additional invitations will be sent to players based on the 2026 NJPGA Player of the Year Standings (16-18 age).
Boys:
- The low ten finishers on the 2025 NJ Golf Junior Player of the Year Standings
- Any player who makes match play in the 2026 W.Y. Dear Junior Championship
- The low three finishers in the 2026 W.Y. Dear Boys Championship
- Any Junior player who qualifies for the 2026 New Jersey Amateur Championship
- Any Junior player who qualifies for the 2026 New Jersey Open Championship
- Junior players who qualify for the 2026 US Open (Sectional), US Amateur and US Junior Amateur Championships
- The low five finishers in the 2025 NJPGA (16-18) Junior Player of the Year Standings
- The low three finishers in the 2025 NJPGA (13-15) Junior Player of the Year Standings
- Any Junior player who qualified for the 2025 NJ Public Links Championship
- Any eligible player who advances to match play in the 2026 MGA Junior
- Any eligible Junior who qualifies for the 2026 MGA IKE Championship
- Any eligible player who advances to match play in the 2026 GAP Junior
- The low five finishers overall in the 2026 NJPGA Junior Section Championship
- The low three eligible finishers of the 2025 Carter Cup
- The low three eligible finishers inside the top 20 of the 2025 GAP Junior Player of the Year
- The low three eligible finishers inside the top 20 of the 2026 Philadelphia PGA Junior section Championship
- The 2026 NJ State High School Champion
- The reigning Junior club champion of Watchung Valley or club designee
- Special Invitee of the NJ Golf Tournament Committee
Girls:
- The low ten finishers on the 2025 NJ Golf Junior Girls Player of the Year Standings
- Any player who makes match play in the 2026 Junior Girls Championship
- Any Junior player who makes match play in the 2026 NJ Women’s Amateur
- The low five Junior finishers in the 2025 NJ Women’s Open
- Junior players who qualify for the 2026 US Women’s Open, US Women’s Amateur and US Girls Junior Amateur Championships
- The low five finishers in the 2025 NJPGA (16-18) Junior Player of the Year Standings
- The low three finishers in the 2025 NJPGA (13-15) Junior Player of the Year Standings
- The low junior finisher in the 2025 NJ Women’s Public Links Championship
- The low eligible finisher of the 2025 Carter Cup
- The low three eligible junior finishers in the 2026 Women’s Met Amateur
- The low three finishers overall in the 2026 NJPGA Junior Section Championship
- The 2026 NJ State High School Champion
- The reigning Junior Girls club champion of Watchung Valley or club designee
- Special Invitee of the NJ Golf Tournament Committee
ELIGIBILITY:
Entries are open to amateur golfers who meet ALL of the following:
- Entrant must be age 18 or younger and not attending college, for the duration of the championship.
- Entrant meet ALL of these Handicap and Membership Requirements:
- Hold a USGA Handicap Index as of the close of entries, at a member club/course. They must be listed on this club’s Handicap Roster.
- Maintain good standing and remain on the above Handicap Roster through the Championship proper.
- If entering from a public facility, or Club Without Real Estate, entrant must be a permanent resident of New Jersey. Proof of residency may be required.
CHAMPIONSHIP FORMAT:
54-Holes, Stroke Play. The Championship field will consist of 78 players (51 boys and 27 girls) who will compete over thirty-six holes on day 1, after which the field will be cut to the low 32 (20 boys and 12 girls) scorers (plus ties). Remaining players will compete on day 2 over 18-Holes. The Champions will be the players with the lowest 54-Hole aggregate scores.
Transportation: Motorized transportation is PROHIBITED.
Caddies: Not Permitted.
Pull/Push Carts: Refer to specific Memo to Players for host club’s policy.
PRIZES:
The Robert D. Cronheim Cup will be presented to the Champions, engraved with their names, and displayed at Watchung Valley Golf Club. The event is a WAGR and Junior Golf Scoreboard ranked event.
FINAL DECISION REGARDING ACCEPTANCE OF ENTRIES IS AT THE DISCRETION OF NJ GOLF. THE COMMITTEE RESERVES THE RIGHT TO REJECT OR WITHDRAW AN ENTRY AT ANY TIME, BEFORE OR DURING A COMPETITION OR MODIFY THE CHAMPIONSHIP PROGRAM ANYTIME, IN ITS DISCRETION. IF NJ GOLF DETERMINES, IN ITS REASONABLE DISCRETION, THAT AN ENTRANT DOES NOT MEET THE ELIGIBILTY REQUIREMENTS, THE ENTRANT MAY BE DISQUALIFIED, EITHER BEFORE OR AFTER A CHAMPIONSHIP HAS BEEN PLAYED.
