Bakker Crossing Men’s Golf Associataion
Welcome to the Bakker Crossing Men’s Golf Association (BCMGA). This will be the 17th season for the Men’s Golf Association. The association had 284 members in 2018 and averages around 150 players each week. Become a part of something more than just a golf league, Men’s Day at Bakker Crossing!
Mission Statement
The mission of the BCMGA is to create a fun golfing environment for all members by facilitating competitive golfing events that provide all players with an opportunity to win prizes and socialize with other members.
General Information
Wednesday Evenings
On Men’s Day, BCMGA Members play a different 9-hole event each Wednesday evening. We have tee-times from 3:04 pm – 6:32 pm on one nine as well as two shotgun starts on the other nine. The shotguns begin at 3:00 pm and 5:30 pm. There are three contests each week that make up the weekly competition; the Game, Hole-in-One, and Skins. All gross events will be flighted.
Format
BCMGA Members will pay $15.00 every time they play. 100% of this entry fee will be paid in the form of tournament prizes, skins, and a hole-in-one pool. $500.00 is awarded to anyone who makes a hole-in-one during Men’s Day! Each event will feature an exciting format and an opportunity for players to win prizes.
Dues
Yearly dues of $80.00 per man include:
- 2019 USGA Handicap
- Opening night hors d’oeuvres & social
- Year-end steak fry & social
- Preferred course access on Wednesday evenings
- Eligibility to compete in the Men’s Club Championship
- Advanced reservation for Bakker Crossing events!
All events will be flighted based on the player’s USGA GHIN Handicap. Our goal is to have as many winners as possible. It does not matter if you are an established player or have been playing for only a few years, you will still have an equal opportunity to win prizes.
2019 Vardon Trophy & Year-Long Skins
Vardon Trophy: The PGA gives the Vardon Trophy to the PGA Tour player with the lowest scoring average for the year. The Bakker Crossing Vardon Trophy goes to the player with the lowest 18-hole score for the year (based on his best gross and net score on each hole throughout the year). The entry fee for Vardon & Skins is $20.00 total.
Eligible Vardon events are as follows: Bakker Crossing Men’s Club Championship and all BCMGA stroke play events excluding opening night and final night.
2019 Men’s Match Play
A back-to-back champ was crowned in 2018! Who’s taking down Kenny? Again in 2019, we will define one winner as the Bakker Crossing “Match Play Champion” of the year. Furthermore, in the true spirit of Match Play, all matches will continue to be 18 holes.
The field will consist of 64 players. Divisions will be created randomly and players will be seeded in each division based on handicap index. The winner of each match will advance to the next round until a champion is crowned. Consolation matches will be held to determine places and payout. 80% of handicaps will be used for all matches. The entry fee for the Match Play is $20.00.
2019 Money Leaders
We will have $200.00 in bonus money set aside for the leading money winners for the year. All money won throughout the season during BCMGA events and the Bakker Crossing Men’s Club Championship will be totaled each week to determine the leading money winners.
