USGA QUALIFYING EVENT

  • The person who claims the 2026 MGA State Junior Girls' Championship will earn a full exemption into the 2026 US Girls' Junior Amateur Championship, set for Old Chatham Golf Club (Durham, N.C.), July 13-18, 2026
  • This is true even if the person fails to qualify in the US Girls' Junior qualifying, set for June 11, 2026 at Oak Glen Golf Course
    • (NOTE: This exemption cannot be deferred to another year nor is it transferable to another person should the champion already be exempt or have qualified) 

 

FORMAT

  • 54-holes, individual, stroke play
  • There will be a cut to the low 24 + ties after Round Two
  • The Champion will be the player with the lowest total from the Championship Flight
  • In the event of a tie, there will be a hole-by-hole playoff immediately following play
  • This is an Official WAGR (World Amateur Golf Ranking) System event

 

ENTRY FEE

  • $125
  • This is a WALKING-ONLY event
     

REGISTRATION 

  • Registration opens Monday, March 2, 2025, at 8:30 a.m.  
  • Deadline to register is Monday, June 8, 2025, at 11:59 p.m.
  • Entries are limited to the first 84 players
  • After entries are filled, a waitlist will be established

 

ELIGIBILITY

Entry is open to any female amateur golfer:

  1. Who must NOT have reached their 19th birthday on or before the last day of the Championship, and
  2. Who is currently an MGA Associate Member OR is a permanent resident of Minnesota
  • An entry may be rejected at the discretion of the Committee at any time, including after the competition has closed.

 

      NOTE: For eligibility purposes, an MGA Associate Member through the MGA Join On-Line (JOL) program must have a Minnesota connection in addition to JOL membership to participate. Examples of connections would be a MN resident (permanent or seasonal), a non-resident student at a MN school, and/or a MGA course connection, validated by a course employee and/or score posting record. The Committee's decision on such a connection and eligibility is final.   

 

ANTICIPATED STARTING TIMES

  • Day 1: Starting times begin from #1 around 7:30 a.m.
  • Day 2: Starting times begin from #1 around 7:30 a.m.
  • Day 3: Cut to low 24 plus ties - starting time begin from #1 at 7:30 a.m.
  • Starting times for Rounds 1 & 2 will be announced after entries close

  • Championship Length: 5,799 yards | Par: 72 | Ratings: 73.0/129

RULES AND INFORMATION

  • The Rules of Golf, the MGA Terms of Competition (MGA Hard Card), and all Local Rules established specifically for the Championship will be in effect. Local Rules for this event will be available under the Course Details tab

 

DISTANCE MEASURING DEVICES

  • Players are permitted to use distance-measuring devices that measure distance only 
  • The slope function must be disabled

 

PACE OF PLAY / PLAYER CONDUCT / DRESS CODE

  • Please refer to Resources tab for Pace of Play, Player Conduct and Dress Code policies

 

CADDIE POLICY 

  • For Junior tournaments, the caddie policy follows the US Girls' Junior Amateur caddie policy which allows caddies at the championship, as long as the caddie is NOT a parent, step-parent or guardian
  • A player is responsible for the behavior and attire of their caddie

 

DIGITAL SCORING

  • Scoring will be done via the Golf Genius App
  • Players should have the app downloaded on their phones and be prepared to keep score
  • The player GGID will be sent via text and email to all players the night before each round using the cell phone number and email in their profile
  • If you are not receiving text messages, please follow these steps:
    1. Email the tournament administrator to have them check that your phone number is correct in our system
    2. If the phone number is correct, it is likely that you have "opted-out" from receiving text messages from Golf Genius and will need to resubscribe
    3. To resubscribe, ask your tournament administrator directly or you can send a text message to the below phone numbers (please include both) with the message "START"

PRACTICE ROUNDS

  • Practice rounds will be available at the players' expense
  • Pebble Creek is offering a practice round rate of $35 (walking) or $50 (riding), any time of the week
  • Tee times can be booked online or by calling the Pebble Creek Golf Club (763) 200-4268
    • When booking online, you will see the "rack rates" but won't be charged
  • When you arrive at the course to pay, identify yourself as a MGA MN State Junior Girls' contestant to receive the reduced rate
  • Please be sure to thank Pebble Creek for their generosity for hosting and providing a discounted rate

CANCELATIONS & REFUNDS

  • To withdraw for any reason before the deadline of an MGA competition, a player may withdraw through Golf Genius or by notifying the MGA in writing
  • To withdraw for any reason after the deadline but before the start of competition, a player must notify the MGA in writing
  • Refund Policy:
    • Cancelation on or before the entry closing date: Full refund
    • Cancelation after the entry closing date and up to ONE (1) day before the first day of your competition: Full refund less a $25 administrative fee
    • Cancelation on the day of the competition or later: No refund
