Exemption Criteria

43rd NJ Mid-Amateur Championship

June 2-4, 2026

 

The following players are exempt from sectional qualifying for the 43rd NJ Mid-Amateur Championship provided they submit their entry prior to the closing date and meet

all other eligibility requirements:

 

  1. Champions of the previous ten NJ Mid-Amateur Championships (2016-2025).
  2. Champions of the previous ten NJ Amateur Championships (2016-2025).
  3. Champions of the previous ten NJ Open Championships (2016-2025).
  4. All players reaching the Qtr-Final round of the 2025 Mid-Amateur Championship.
  5. The top five Mid-Amateur golfers (age 25 and above) in the final standings of the 2025 NJ Amateur Player of the Year Points List.
  6. The top three players from the 2025 NJ Senior Player of the Year Standings.
  7. If eligible, the 2025 champions of the:
    1. NJ Senior Amateur
    2. NJ Pre-Senior Amateur
    3. NJ Men’s Public Links
    4. NJ Senior Open
    5. MGA Amateur (Match Play)
    6. MGA Ike (Stroke Play)
    7. GAP Amateur (Match Play)
    8. GAP Patterson Cup (Stroke Play)
    9. GAP Sr-Amateur
  8. If eligible, qualifiers for the:
    1. 2025 US Senior Open
    2. 2025 US Amateur (Final Qualifying)
    3. 2025 US Senior Amateur
    4. 2025 US Mid-Amateur
    5. 2026 US Open (Final Qualifying)
  9. The Low Amateur in the:
    1. 2025 NJ Open Championship
    2. 2026 NJ Senior Open Championship
  10. The 2025 South Jersey Cup Amateur Champion.
  11. The champion of the previous three GAP Mid-Amateur Championships (2024-2026). If Eligible
  12. The champion of the previous three MGA Mid-Amateur Championships (2023-2025). If Eligible
  13. The 2026 MGA Sr. Amateur Champion. (If Eligible)
  14. The low three mid-amateur finishers (plus ties) of the 2025 NJ Men’s Public Links Championship.
  15. The reigning club champion, who’s a member in good standing of Alpine, or the club’s designee.
  16. Special Invitee of the NJ Tournament Committee.

 

 

Entry Fee: $175.00.
Entries Close: Wednesday, April 22 @ 5pm
Late entries will NOT be accepted

Players Exempt From Qualifying

 

ELIGIBILITY:
Entries open to amateur golfers who meet ALL of the following:

  • Entrant must be 25 years of age as of the first day of the championship proper.
  • Entrant must possess UNQUESTIONABLE Amateur Status.
  • Entrant meet ALL of these Handicap and Membership Requirements:
    • Hold a USGA Handicap Index of 7.0 or less, as of the close of entries, at a member club/course. They must be listed on this club’s GHIN Handicap Roster.
    • Maintain good standing and remain on the above Handicap Roster through the Championship proper.
  • If entering from a public facility, or Club Without Real Estate, entrant must be a permanent resident of New Jersey. Proof of residency may be required.

 

CHAMPIONSHIP FORMAT:
Stroke Play to Match Play. An 18-hole, Stroke Play qualifying round will be held on day 1. The low 16 scorers will advance to two days (four rounds) of Match Play. The round of 16 and quarterfinals will be held on day 2; the semifinals and championship matches will be held on day 3. The Championship field will consist of 72 players.

 

Transportation:
Motorized transportation is PERMITTED at qualifying sites only at an additional cost to players.
Motorized transportation is PROHIBITED at the championship proper. All players must walk.

 

Caddies:
Permitted; a player may bring their own caddie – or where available, reserve a local caddie.

 

Pull/Push Carts:
Refer to specific Player Information Sheet for host club’s policy.

 

 

FINAL DECISION REGARDING ACCEPTANCE OF ENTRIES IS AT THE DISCRETION OF NJ GOLF. THE COMMITTEE RESERVES THE RIGHT TO REJECT OR WITHDRAW AN ENTRY AT ANY TIME, BEFORE OR DURING A COMPETITION OR MODIFY THE CHAMPIONSHIP PROGRAM ANYTIME, IN ITS DISCRETION. IF NJ GOLF DETERMINES, IN ITS REASONABLE DISCRETION, THAT AN ENTRANT DOES NOT MEET THE ELIGIBILTY REQUIREMENTS, THE ENTRANT MAY BE DISQUALIFIED, EITHER BEFORE OR AFTER A CHAMPIONSHIP HAS BEEN PLAYED.
