POLICIES, PROCEDURES, & GUIDELINES:

Before participating, participants should review the SCGA’s Policies & Procedures.

 

FORMAT:

  • All players will participate in an 18-hole, two-person scramble, net stroke play round.
  • Maximum Score: During the play of this competition, a team is allowed a maximum gross score under the following format:
  • Par 3: 6 Strokes
  • Par 4: 8 Strokes
  • Par 5: 10 Strokes

 

Please refer to Rule 21.2 for more information on Maximum Score Formats.

 

  • Players will play to their Handicap Index as of February 25.
  • Player A (lower-handicapped player) will receive 35% of their Course Handicap. Player B (higher-handicapped player) will receive 15% of their Course Handicap. Each player’s Course Handicap will be rounded to a whole number. Team Handicaps are based on the combined Course Handicaps of the partners and will be deducted from the team’s gross score after the round.
  • Worldwide Golf Shops gift cards will be awarded to one male and one female in a closest to the hole contest on Hole 3.

 

All ties will be broken using the USGA-suggested method of matching scorecards (Committee Procedures: Section 5A (6)).

 

REGISTRATION:

  • All players must check in at the SCGA tent near the Snack Bar/Golf Shop to obtain their driving range and lunch vouchers. Registration will begin at 6:15 am.

 

STARTING TIMES & PAIRINGS: 

  • Starting times and pairings will be emailed to players and posted on scga.org one week before the tournament.
  • The starting times will begin at 7:00 a.m. - players are expected to check in and be ready at the 1st tee 10 minutes before their scheduled tee time.

   

TEES & YARDAGE:

  • ALL MEN will play from the BLUE tee markers. Course Rating: 71.4 / Slope: 128 / Approx. 6,391 yards / Par 72.
  • ALL WOMEN will play from the WHITE/RED tee markers. Course Rating: 72.8 / Slope: 125 / Approx. 5,609 yards / Par 72.

 

STRACKALINE BOOKS:

The SCGA and StrackaLine have teamed up to allow our participants the opportunity to purchase StrackaLine Yardage & Greens books at a 20% discount. Click here to purchase your StrackaLine Booklet. All booklets conform to the Rules of Golf and may be used in tournament play.

 

PRACTICE ROUNDS:

  • Players may plan for practice rounds at their own expense, subject to availability.
  • Practice rounds are a privilege, not a right. The SCGA works with a variety of facilities throughout the year, each with unique policies and procedures for practice rounds. These opportunities will be provided at the host facility's sole discretion.
  • We are guests and must follow all facility policies and guidelines when on the property. Behavior during practice rounds will be subject to the SCGA Code of Conduct.

 

DRIVING RANGE:

  • The driving range will be available before your tee time.
  • All participants will receive a code for range balls at registration.

 

FOOD SERVICE & PURCHASES:

  • The snack bar will be open from 7 a.m. until the conclusion of play.
  • All participants will receive a lunch voucher at registration.
  • Cash and major credit cards will be accepted for all purchases. 

 

RULES OF PLAY:

The Rules of Golf, as approved by the USGA and The R&A, govern play.

GOLF CARTS & PULL/PUSH CARTS:

  • Golf carts are included as part of the entry fee; however, players who are able and willing to walk may do so.
  • There will be a maximum of two carts per group and two bags per cart. Players wishing to ride will be expected to share a cart with another player.
  • Each player is entitled to one seat in a cart. If a player brings a caddie, the caddie may ride provided there is a vacant seat in one of the carts. Otherwise, either the player or the caddie must walk.
  • Drivers must be at least 16 years of age (or older if club policy dictates).
  • Pull or push carts are permitted.

 

CADDIES & SPECTATORS:

  • Players may provide their own caddie (see section on Golf Carts).
  • Spectators are permitted but are not allowed in carts. Spectators must adhere to all policies set forth by the facility.

 

DRESS CODE:

  • Appropriate golf attire must be worn, including adherence to any club-specific policies.

 

CANCELATIONS & REFUNDS:

  • To withdraw for any reason before the start of a SCGA competition, a player must notify the SCGA Championships & Golf Operations Department at champs@scga.org.
  • Failure to notify the SCGA will result in suspension from future SCGA competitions.
  • Refund Policy:
    • Cancellation before the entry closing date: Full refund less a $20 administrative fee.
    • Cancellation after the entry closing date and more than 48 hours before the start of the competition: 50% of the entry fee.
    • Cancellation within 48 hours of the start of the competition: No refund.
