EVENT: 61st Georgia Junior Championship 

 

SITE: Coosa Country Club

 

DATE: July 6-8, 2026

 

FIELD SIZE: 144 players.

 

FORMAT: 54 holes of individual stroke play. There will be a cut to the low 60 players and ties after 36 holes. 

 

PRACTICE ROUND:

 

  • One practice round per player.

 

  • Practice round fee is $50 plus tax. 

 

  • Available prior to the competition during the following times:
    • Mondays - Club is closed
    • Tuesdays - Thursdays - after 12:00pm, based on availability
    • Fridays - Saturdays - after 1:00pm, based on availability
    • Sundays - between 8:00 - 10:00am and after 2:00pm, based on availability

 

CADDIES: All players must walk and carry or push their own bag. Caddies are strictly prohibited for this championship. Push carts are permitted.

 

SPECTATOR CARTS: Spectators are allowed to rent a seat on a cart each day of the competition at a cost of $25 per cart seat.  The number of carts allowed for rental to spectators will be limited to two carts per group and no more than two people allowed in the cart.  Nobody can ride on the back or outside of the cart under any circumstances.  Only credit cards will be accepted when paying for a spectator cart seat.  

 

YARDAGES & TEES: The GSGA tee markers and yardages will be utilized for the qualifying round.  Yardages are approximate and may be adjusted due to inclement weather or other factors that may affect the playing conditions during the competition. Under the Player Information Tab there is a practice yardage sheet.

GOLF SHOP & DRIVING RANGE: Open at 6:30 a.m. all days of competition.

 

STARTING TIMES: Assigned by GSGA and posted on the event portal after the close of entries.

 

REGISTRATION: Registration will be open to players to check in and pick up player gifts on Sunday, July 5 from 11:00am - 4:00pm and on Monday before or after their first round. Withdrawals must be called or emailed to the Official In Charge listed above.

 

FOOD SERVICE: The GSGA will provide lunch for all players in the clubhouse on Monday, July 6 and Tuesday, July 7 from 11:30 am - 3:00 pm.  Parents and spectators can make food and beverage purchases during the event in the snack bar in clubhouse as well as at the pool. Credit cards are the accepted method of payment.  The GSGA will also provide snacks for players on #1 and #10 and bottled water at multiple locations on the course during the Championship.

 

GEORGIA/SOUTH CAROLINA JUNIOR CHALLENGE MATCH: The top 8 finishers in the Championship will qualify to represent Georgia and the GSGA in the 51st GA/SC Junior Challenge Match at Augusta CC on August 1-2.  Details will be distributed at the end of the championship.  

 

REFUND POLICY:

 

  • A $30 service charge will be retained by the GSGA on all refunds granted prior to the close of entries.

 

  • Entry fees will not be refunded after entries close unless there is a waiting list and your spot can be filled.

 

  • Withdraws after the close of entries must be made by calling or emailing the Official In Charge listed above.

 

  • If a player notifies the GSGA of their withdrawal from a qualifier for the Amateur, Junior, Mid-Amateur, or Match Play Championship after the close of entries, but one week prior to the event date, they will be guaranteed a 50% refund.
