Terms of Competition and Additional Information 

 

Eligibility: Entries are open to female amateur golfers who are Regular Members of the WVGA. Please Reference WVGA Policies and Procedures for further details.

 

Entry Fees: $200 per player. This includes cart and range fees as well as dinner.

 

Registration: All contestants must register and pay in advance for each tournament. Entries may be paid for via online registration. Entries must be received by June 9, 2026.

 

Championship Dates: Sunday, June 14- Tuesday, June 16.

 

Tee Times: Round 1- 1:30pm starting time off Hole 1. Round 2 and 3- 8:30am starting time off Hole 1.

 

Format: The WV Women's Amateur Championship is a 54-hole stroke play championship. Upon conclusion of Round 2, players will be flighted on a maximum of three (3) flights but will be determined depending on field size.

 

Field Size: The maximum field size is 72 players.

 

Practice Round: Practice rounds are scheduled for the date of Saturday, June 13 after 1:00PM. Practice round fee is $60 + tax and can be scheduled by calling Oglebay Resort Pro Shop at (304) 243-4051. Players may schedule their practice round on other days but are subject to host site availability and VIP Card fee.

 

Cart & Caddie Information:

  • Spectator Carts: Spectator carts will not be permitted during the Women’s Amateur with the exception of a spectator who can provide an issued and active Handicap Permit. The final decision will be made by the WVGA Executive Director and Director of Women's Golf.
  • Caddies: Caddies are permitted during the Women’s Amateur Championship. Players are responsible for supplying their own caddie. Caddies may ride in golf carts if it adheres to the WVGA cart policy and there is an available seat. * WVGA Cart Policy - there will be a maximum of 2 carts per group and 2 individuals per cart. *

Pairings: Pairings will be released and updated on the WVGA website by Friday, June 12. Pairings will also be included in the Player Information that will be emailed to each player by Friday, June 12th. 

 

Score Posting: At the conclusion of the championship each player’s score will be automatically posted as a "C" or competition score to the GHIN handicap system. Please do not enter your own scores from the competitive rounds as this will result in a double post.

 

POY Points: Women's State Player of the Year points will be awarded to the top finishers. Points will be awarded immediately following the conclusion of the championship.

 

Withdrawal Policy: In the event of a tournament withdraw; the player must notify the West Virginia Golf Association Office at 304-391-5000 no later than one week prior to the tournament. If withdraw is made prior to tournament deadline, the player may receive a refund regardless of reason less a $20 administrative fee. For a withdrawal made after the entry deadline, the player may receive a refund only if player has experienced a sudden illness or injury, and only if the West Virginia Golf Association is notified prior to the first round of the tournament.
