Terms of Competition and Additional Information

 

Entry Fee: $350 per team

Format: The championship is a 36-hole stroke play scramble with 18 holes played each day. 

Field Size: The maximum field size is 100 players (50 teams)

Driving Range: Included in entry

Flights: The field will be divided into flights following Round 1 scores.

Practice Round: The designated practice round timeframe is anytime the week before the event. Players are instructed to make tee times through the golf shop. Players will be allocated only one practice round at the discounted rate of $30 plus tax. Tee Times: 276-326-1178

Championship Yardage: Back Tee Yardage at Fincastle. 

Player Registration: Details will be emailed to players after the Entry Deadline. 

Raffle and Skins: There will be a $20 per team skins game and raffle (each team receives two tickets) available each day at registration.

Cart Fees: Carts Included

Caddies: Caddies are permitted during the championship. Players are responsible for supplying their own caddie. Caddies may ride in golf carts if it adheres to the WVGA cart policy and their is an available seat. * WVGA Cart Policy - there will be a maximum of 2 carts per group and 2 individuals per cart. *

Pairings: Pairings for Round 1 will be released and updated on the WVGA website by Wednesday prior to the event. Pairings will also be included in the Player Information that will be emailed to each player. 

Awards / Gift Certificates: The champions in each division will receive trophies. Top finishers in each flight will receive gift certificates. 

POY Points: State Player of the Year points will  be awarded to the top 5 teams. Player of the Year points list will be updated online immediately following the completion of play.

Eligibility: Entries are open to male amateur golfers with an active GHIN Handicap index through a WVGA Member Club. Both players must be "Regular Members" of the West Virginia Golf Association. Please Reference WVGA Policies and Procedures for further details.
