Terms of Competition and Additional Information

 

Eligibility: Entries are open to male senior amateur golfers with an active GHIN Handicap index through a WVGA Member Club, and who are 50 years of age or older by the first round of Championship. Both players must be "Regular Members" of the West Virginia Golf Association. Please Reference WVGA Policies and Procedures for further details.

Format: The championship is a 36-hole stroke play scramble with 18 holes played each day. 

Entry Fee: $275 per team.

Starting Time: Tee times beginning at 9am each day all off of #1 (subject to change with weather or otherwise).

Field Size: The maximum field size is 50 players (25 teams).

Flights: The field may be divided into flights following Round 1 scores, depending on number of entries.

Practice Round: Players may make tee times by calling the Pro Shop (304) 572-6500 . Practice round rate is $40.

Player Registration: Details will be emailed to players after the Entry Deadline. 

Skins: There will be a $20 per team skins game available each day at registration.

Cart Fees: Carts Included.

Caddies: Caddies are permitted during the championship. Players are responsible for supplying their own caddie. Caddies may ride in golf carts if it adheres to the WVGA cart policy and their is an available seat. * WVGA Cart Policy - there will be a maximum of 2 carts per group and 2 individuals per cart. *

Pairings: Pairings for Round 1 will be released and updated on the event website by Tuesday prior to the Championship. Pairings will also be included in the Player Information that will be emailed to each player. 

Awards / Gift Certificates: The champions in each division will receive trophies. Top finishers will receive gift certificates.

POY Points: State Player of the Year points will  be awarded to the top teams in each division. Player of the Year points list will be updated online following the completion of play.
