FORMAT

  • Championship and Other Flights: 36-hole, GROSS stroke play
  • Masters Flight: 36-hole, NET stroke play
  • The Champion will be the player with the lowest 36-hole total in the championship flight
    • In the event of a tie for first place in the Championship Flight, there will be a hole-by-hole playoff immediately following play
    • Ties for first place in any other flight will be broken by a scorecard playoff, as recommended by USGA policy.

 

FLIGHTS:

  • Flights, other than the MASTERS FLIGHT, will be determined after registration has closed
    • A player will be assigned to a flight according to her Handicap Index® on the deadline
  • The MASTERS FLIGHT is limited to players age 65 and older
    • Players MUST select this flight at registration if they wish to compete in this flight
  • A Flight Report will be published after flights have been established

 

ENTRY FEE

  • $140 (walking)
  • $195 (riding, includes $50 cart rental for both days)
     

REGISTRATION 

  • Registration opens Monday, March 2, 2025, at 8:30 a.m.  
  • Deadline to register is Monday, August 3, 2026, at 11:59 p.m.
  • Entries are open to the first 90 players
  • After entries are filled, a waitlist will be established

 

ELIGIBILITY

Entry is open to any female amateur golfer:
(1) Who is an MGA Associate Member,
(2) Who is at least 50 years old as of the first day of the Championship (65+ for the masters flight division),
(3) Whose Minnesota Handicap Index® is active at the time of entry, and
(4) Whose Minnesota Handicap Index® is active effective the first day of the Championship.

  • An entry may be rejected at the discretion of the Committee at any time, including after the competition has closed.

 

      NOTE: For eligibility purposes, an MGA Associate Member through the MGA Join On-Line (JOL) program must have a Minnesota connection in addition to JOL membership to participate. Examples of connections would be a MN resident (permanent or seasonal), a non-resident student at a MN school, and/or a MGA course connection, validated by a course employee and/or score posting record. The Committee's decision on such a connection and eligibility is final.   

 

ANTICIPATED STARTING TIMES

  • Day 1: 1:00 p.m., SHOTGUN START
  • Day 2: 9:00 a.m., #1/10 START

  • Championship Flight - Length: 5,300-5,500 | Par: 72 | Ratings: TBD
  • Other Flights - Length: 5,090 yards | Par: 72 | Ratings: 70.0 / 126

RULES AND INFORMATION

  • The Rules of Golf, the MGA Terms of Competition (MGA Hard Card), and all Local Rules established specifically for the Championship will be in effect. Local Rules for this event will be available under the Course Details tab

 

DISTANCE MEASURING DEVICES

  • Players are permitted to use distance-measuring devices that measure distance only
  • The slope function must be disabled

 

PACE OF PLAY / PLAYER CONDUCT / DRESS CODE

  • Please refer to Resources tab for Pace of Play, Player Conduct and Dress Code policies

 

CADDIE POLICY 

  • Players may use a Caddie unless prohibited or restricted by a Local Rule
  • A player is responsible for the behavior and attire of their caddie

 

DIGITAL SCORING

  • Scoring will be done via the Golf Genius App
  • Players should have the app downloaded on their phones and be prepared to keep score
  • The player GGID will be sent via text and email to all players the night before each round using the cell phone number and email in their profile
  • If you are not receiving text messages, please follow these steps:
    1. Email the tournament administrator to have them check that your phone number is correct in our system
    2. If the phone number is correct, it is likely that you have "opted-out" from receiving text messages from Golf Genius and will need to resubscribe
    3. To resubscribe, ask your tournament administrator directly or you can send a text message to the below phone numbers (please include both) with the message "START"

PRACTICE ROUNDS

  • Practice rounds will be available at the players' expense
  • Please call Minnewaska Golf Club and identify yourself as a MGA Women's Senior Amateur contestant to schedule a practice round
  • Rounds are available for $45 (includes 18-holes plus cart) and can be booked for any time of the week

CANCELATIONS & REFUNDS

  • To withdraw for any reason before the deadline of an MGA competition, a player may withdraw through Golf Genius or by notifying the MGA in writing
  • To withdraw for any reason after the deadline but before the start of competition, a player must notify the MGA in writing
  • Refund Policy:
    • Cancelation on or before the entry closing date: Full refund
    • Cancelation after the entry closing date and up to ONE (1) day before the first day of your competition: Full refund less a $25 administrative fee
    • Cancelation on the day of the competition or later: No refund
