Good day all and Happy New Year!
I am please to announce that we have finally secured dates for the Cedarberry Bowl this year. It has been difficult as the Easter breaks for the schools, (Government / Private / Overseas) do not align and Good Friday and Easter Sunday are not available for play at the courses. The tournament is therefore to be held on the 10th – 12th April 2026.
Venues are still being confirmed but we can confirm a change in locations for this year which is exciting. Furthermore, all tee times will be in the afternoon and as such, the Friday afternoon of play (10th April) will require those in local private schools to be excused for the afternoon in order to play. I apologies for the inconvenience in this circumstance but hope that those affected can understand the difficulty in trying to organize this.
Whilst is it subject to change, the divisions are anticipated to be as follows:
Blue Tees – Juniors with official handicaps aged 16-18
White Tees – Juniors with official handicaps aged between 12 and 16 (boys) and over 14 (girls)
Red Tees – Juniors with official handicaps aged under 12 (boys) and under 14 (girls)
The above groups will play 18 holes each day of the tournament and will play in Gross and Net Stroke Play competitions. Juniors over 12 without an official handicap can play in their age group but will only be eligible for the Gross competition.
Novice Tees – Juniors under 12 without handicaps
This group will only play on Day 2 (11th April) and Day 3 (12th April) on abbreviated tees and will play a Stableford format.
Registration will open on Monday, February 2nd at 8:00am on the Golf Genius Event Schedule. If you have not registered your junior with the BGA or know of someone who needs to be registered, please do so as soon as possible to ensure that you receive updates from the BGA and can start your junior on their journey of getting an official handicap. Please e-mail Darrin Lewis (info@bermudagolf.org) with name, date of birth and the best e-mail in order to complete the process.
Thanks for your patience and understanding but if you have any questions at this time, please let me know and I’ll do my best to address them in a timely manner.
Best regards,
Patrick
