TEE TIME REQUESTS
The NYSGA will make an effort to accommodate tee time requests - click here that are submitted before tee times are published.
PAIRINGS
Are typically released five (5) business days prior to the qualifier - you will be notified via email when they are posted. When pairings are posted, you can click here to view them - be sure to select your qualifier from the drop-down menu.
FORMAT
The qualifying format is set as two 9 hole stipulated rounds (18 holes) of stroke play. If both 9-hole rounds can’t be completed due to weather/darkness and everyone completes at least the first 9 holes, the second 9 hole round will be cancelled, and the cut will be made based on the scores from the first 9 hole round.
CHAMPIONSHIP FEE
Qualifying players who advance will receive an email invoice to pay the championship fee of $250.
PRACTICE ROUNDS
The availability (if any) and pricing of practice rounds is determined by each qualifying site - contact their pro shop for more information. Clubs are not required to offer practice rounds.
TRANSFERS
Players may transfer their entry to another qualifying site, but must follow the directions below:
- Notify the NYSGA by email (champs@nysga.org) with "NYSAM TRANSFER" in subject
- Once the NYSGA is notified, the player will:
- Before Deadline: Be moved into to the new qualifier.
- After Deadline: Be added to a waitlist for the new qualifier and moved into the field if a spot opens
- Alternates order on waitlist is sorted by their transfer email request date/time
- A player can change qualifying sites until 12pm the day before their qualifier's date
- A player that transfers qualifying sites after the entry deadline is not eligible for a refund if they withdraw, regardless of timeline
WITHDRAWALS
To withdraw, send an email to champs@nysga.org with the subject line "WD - NYSAM Qualifier at NAME". No shows are likely to result in suspension from future NYSGA competitions.
REFUND POLICY
A portion of the entry fee, based on the schedule below, will be refunded regardless of reason if the NYSGA is notified (315-471-6979 or champs@nysga.org):
- PRIOR TO Deadline: Entry Fee less $20
- AFTER Deadline: Entry Fee less $50
- WITHIN 7 DAYS of Qualifier: No Refund
CADDIES, PUSH CARTS & TRANSPORTATION
- Caddies & Push Carts: Are APPROVED for all stages of the Championship. The use of a caddie is not required and there are none available through the host club. Electric push carts are allowed but if one has a seat attachment, the seat must not be used.
- Motorized Cart: Are PROHIBITED for all stages of this Championship, including qualifying rounds.
LAST CHANCE QUALIFIER
The Last Chance Qualifier for the 2026 NYS Men's Amateur Championship will be announced as information becomes available.
