MEMORANDUM TO PLAYERS


EVENT DOCS

 

FORMAT, QUALIFYING PLACES, AND TIES

  • FORMAT. 18-holes of individual stroke play
  • QUALIFYING SPOTS. 4 qualifying spots and 2 alternates.
  • PLAYOFF. A hole-by-hole playoff will be used to break a tie for the final qualifying spot, first alternate, and/or second alternate. All announcements regarding the play-off will be made at the public scoreboard upon completion of play.

WITHDRAWALS

SCHEDULING PRACTICE ROUNDS

Practice rounds are available on Sunday, August 23 for $60 (CASH ONLY). Local players should secure a practice round outside of the August 23rd block.

  • Traveling less than 60 miles? Call the pro shop to schedule a tee time on a date of your preference: (716) 655-0000 ext. 1. Practice Rounds are limited to Qualifying Players ONLY.
  • Traveling more than 60 miles? You have first access to tee times on Sunday, August 23. Do not call the pro shop, instead register for a tee time using the link below, active Wednesday, July 29:

The NYSGA's One-Seat Policy is in effect for the official practice round. Players and caddies must walk in the qualifying round.

 

PRO SHOP AND PRACTICE FACILITIES

The golf shop and practice facilities will open at 6:15am. Complimentary balls will be available on the driving range.

 

COURSE YARDAGE

Play will be from the black tee yardage, set to approximately 7,148 yards / par 72.


 

FOOD SERVICE

  • The club's restaurant will be available for purchase on Sunday until 3pm (CASH ONLY). The Club's restaurant will be closed on Monday. The Bar will be open beginning at 12:00pm (CASH ONLY)
  • On-course snacks and beverages will be provided by the NYSGA during the qualifying round - players/caddies only please.

REGISTRATION AND START OF PLAY
Players should report to the 1st tee ten (10) minutes prior to their starting time for announcements. There is no registration required when you arrive at Seven Oaks.

PUSH CARTS
The use of a pull cart is approved for this qualifier. Carts are available through the host club on a first come first served basis ($10). Electronic golf bag carts are permitted.

CADDIES
A competitor may bring their own caddie or carry their own clubs. There are no caddies available through the host club. A caddie is required to wear an NYSGA caddie bib, which will be provided at starting during announcements.

 

LIVE SCORING
Live scoring via the Golf Genius mobile app is required of one player (or caddie). Please download via their smartphone's app store (search "Golf Genius") in advance of their arrival to starting.


LOCAL RULES AND CONDITIONS
Listed below are a number of important Conditions of Competition and Local Rules for this qualifier.

  • USGA LOCAL RULES AND TERMS OF THE COMPETITION (HARD CARD). Click here.
  • GROOVE CONDITION. The players’ clubs must conform to the grooves and punch mark specifications in The Rules of Golf that are effective from January 1, 2010.  See Model Local Rule G-2. The exception for Ping Eye2 Irons manufactured before March 31, 1990 is not in effect. (click here).
  • CONFORMING BALLS AND DRIVER HEADS. Visit the USGA website for a list of approved golf balls (click here) and driver heads (click here).
  • ONE BALL RULE. Is NOT in effect for any USGA qualifying rounds in 2025.
  • DISTANCE MEASURING DEVICES. For all USGA qualifying rounds, the use of distance measuring devices to measure distance only is permitted.


PROHIBITING USE OF MOTORIZED TRANSPORTATION (LOCAL RULE G-6)
Players must not ride on any form of transportation during a stipulated round unless authorized by the Committee. The optional condition prescribed in Section 8 of the Committee Procedures will be in effect. A breach will result in the general penalty, two-strokes, on each hole where the breach occurred.

PLAYER/CADDIE USE OF GOLF CART
A disabled player or caddie may be permitted to use a golf cart as an accommodation to their ability. As required by the ADA, the USGA will evaluate such requests on a case-by-case basis. To learn more and to submit the required form,

SPECTATOR CARTS
Spectator carts are not permitted, exceptions are made for those with a permanent disability. As required by the ADA, the NYSGA will evaluate such requests on a case-by-case basis. To request a spectator cart, please complete and return the required form,

PACE OF PLAY
The
NYSGA Pace of Play policy is adopted for this qualifier.

CODE OF CONDUCT
The
NYSGA Code of Conduct is in effect for this qualifier.

EVACUATION PLAN
In the event of a discontinuance of play during the qualifier, players must adhere to the evacuation plan distributed by the Committee at their starting tee.
