2nd NWAGA Pinehurst Tournament

The Field Club of Omaha

June 6-7, 2019

The tournament will consist of 36-holes of both Gross and Net Pinehurst stroke play. In Pinehurst, two players play as partners, each partner plays from the teeing ground and plays the partner's ball for the second shot. After the second shot, partners select the ball with which they wish to score and play that ball alternately to complete the hole. Sides will compete in the net portion with a Team Handicap combining 60% of the lower player’s Course Handicap and 40% of the higher player’s Course Handicap.

Flights will be determined based on a team’s round one net score. Merchandise prizes will be awarded in each flight with the winning team in each flight receiving medals. In addition NWAGA will award trophies to both the overall net champions and the overall gross champions.

Included in the entry fee is golf, cart, use of the practice facility prior to play, a player dinner after round one and awards luncheon following round two.

Eligibility: Entrant must be an Amateur Golfer with an active USGA Handicap Index® issued by a “member club” of the Nebraska Golf Association. Entrant must also be a member of NWAGA and a “resident” of Nebraska (See below).

An individual is considered to be a resident of Nebraska if they: maintain either a primary or a secondary residence in Nebraska, or are an active duty member of the United States Military stationed in Nebraska, or are a student physically attending college in Nebraska within a time period four-months prior to the event, or are a graduate of a Nebraska high school attending an out-of-state college. If the above criteria are in question, the NWAGA Tournament Committee shall render any final decision.

Field Size: Field is limited to 54 sides (two players).

Entry Fee: Entry fee of $240 must be paid by every side. Entry fee will be refunded regardless of reason if NWAGA is notified (402-505-4653, x103) before the close of entries. After the close of entries, fee will be refunded in the event of a medical condition, if requested before the first day of competition. No refund for any reason after that. A $25 service charge will be deducted from all refunds.

Entry Period: NWAGA only accepts on-line applications. Entries open at 8 a.m. CDT on Wednesday, May 1, 2019. Entries must be received by NWAGA no later than 5 p.m. CDT on Thursday, May 30, 2019. If the competition receives more than the maximum number of entries by 12 p.m. CDT on May 1, a drawing will be used to determine the field and wait list order. If the tournament does not receive more than the maximum number of entries by 12 p.m. CDT on May 1, the field will be determined by order of entry. Entries may be accepted after the deadline, if field is not full, at the discretion of NWAGA. Entries may no longer be accepted once groupings have been announced. Partner substitutions may be made prior to tournament play. Because substitutions may affect a team’s pairing based on handicap every effort should be made to find a new partner with a similar handicap.

Practice Rounds: Available at a time convenient to The Field Club of Omaha (402-345-6347). Fee is $45 (including cart). Please note: certain dates and times may be restricted based on club activity.

The Team Handicap will be a combination of 60% of the lower player's Course Handicpa and 40% of the higher player's Course Handicap. The Team Handicap will be used in the Net portion of the tournament and for determining round one pairing position. For the final round of competition, sides will be paired based on their round one net score.

Ties: In case of a tie for either first place in a flight, the lowest overall net score or the lowest overall gross score, the winner will be determined by a scorecard playoff.
