Kick Off the Golf Season with Chips, Sips, and Tips!

 

Join us for an afternoon of golf instruction, rules education, and socializing with fellow LPGA Amateurs members! This event is a fantastic opportunity to refine your skills, gain valuable insights, and connect with other golfers.

 

Event Highlights:

 

🏌️‍♀️ 50-Minute Short-Game Clinic

  • Sessions at 1:00 PM or 2:00 PM (6 people max per session)
  • Clinic will cover either putting or chipping, based on interest
  • Clinics led by Tina Favia, LPGA Teaching Professional at Cantigny Golf Academy

 

đź“– 50-Minute Rules & Handicap Workshop

  • Sessions at 1:00 PM or 2:00 PM (12 people max per session)
  • Workshop will cover either Rules of Golf or Handicaps, based on interest
  • Presenters will include Julie Suh, Handicap Chair, and Shirley Brown, LPGA Ams TOPS (Rules) Official

 

🍷 Social Hour

  • 3:00 - 4:00 PM at the Cantigny clubhouse
  • Cash bar, light snacks provided
  • Opportunity to meet other members and ask questions

 

This event is designed for all skill levels, but Advanced Beginner and Intermediate will likely benefit the most. (See the chapter website for a description of skill levels; please provide your skill level or handicap on the registration form.)

 

💡 New members are especially encouraged to attend! It’s a great way to meet other members and get involved.

The Cantigny Golf Academy opened in 2008 and welcomes individuals, families, groups of all kinds, and corporate events.  Golfers of all ages, ability, and levels will find everything they need at this year-round facility.  The Cantigny Golf Academy is the region’s foremost practice, teaching and training center. 

Each member of their professional staff is dedicated to helping you enjoy the game even more!  Students at the Academy are guided through a curriculum integrating all of the essential performance components of playing golf—an approach unique to the Chicago area.  

 

About Tina Favia

LPGA Teaching Professional

 

Tina Favia’s successful golf career includes more than 30 years of teaching professionally.

Tina began teaching in the Chicago area in 1991, first at Wynstone Golf Club and later Conway Farms. She joined the Cantigny professional staff in 2003 and has served as assistant coach at both the University of Wisconsin and Northwestern University.

Tina’s Master’s in Sport Psychology and Kinesiology at the University of Colorado gives her a deeper understanding of learning and performance in sport. Creating a learning environment that encourages every level of player from beginner to tournament player is important to Tina. Utilizing the Golf Academy’s learning resources, she’ll develop a customized program to help you reach your goals in golf and increase your enjoyment of the game.

As Cantigny’s LPGA-USGA Girls Golf Site Coordinator, Tina is committed to introducing the game to juniors. She teaches all levels of the junior program from the Little Linkers (ages 5-7) to the High School Golf Prep and High School Golf Prep Short Game Clinics.
