WELCOME CLUB VOLUNTEERS!

 

The NYSGA is excited to partner with Glens Falls Country Club members to help deliver a premier championship experience at one of New York's most celebrated Donald Ross courses. Club volunteers play a vital role in creating lasting memories for players, members, and the club — and we're proud to have GFCC members as part of the team.

The Member Volunteer Program is built to achieve two goals:

 

#1 - Deliver an elite championship experience for players. Club volunteers elevate the look, feel, and efficiency of the championship — helping players on the course, creating a welcoming atmosphere, and giving the event the feel of a national-level competition.

 

#2 - Ensure club volunteers enjoy their own experience. The NYSGA provides training, support, and recognition to ensure every volunteer is prepared, supported, and proud of their contribution.


VOLUNTEER COMMITTEES

  • Spotting Committee: On-course support helping players locate errant shots and protecting blind areas
  • Player Registration Committee: Welcome players and caddies, confirm tee times, distribute player gifts
  • Live Scoring & Standard Bearers (Final Round Only): Walk with lead groups carrying scoring signs and entering scores into the Golf Genius app
  • Medical Committee: On-site first aid and emergency response support (medical background preferred)
  • Media Committee: Promote championship coverage through local print and video media contacts
  • Player Experience & Hospitality Committee: Off-course planning including menus, clubhouse setup, and local area recommendations
  • Championship Souvenir Program Committee: Program production and advertisement sales


WHAT VOLUNTEERS RECEIVE

  • Complimentary championship-logoed golf shirt and hat
  • Identifying name badge
  • Complimentary lunch during championship days
  • Training from NYSGA staff (in-person and recorded)


HOW TO SIGN UP

Complete the club volunteer registration form. Select the committees you're interested in and we'll be in touch. A follow-up survey will be sent prior to championship week to confirm your shift availability and finalize assignments.
