29th NWAGA Scramble

Heritage Hills Golf Course, McCook

August 26-27, 2019

The NWAGA Scramble is a 36-hole net four-person modified scramble. Each team’s handicap is determined by using 20% of the lowest player’s Course Handicap, 15% of the second lowest player’s Course Handicap, 10% of the third lowest player’s Course Handicap and 5% of the highest player’s Course Handicap figured to the hundredth decimal point. The tournament will be made up of four flights, determined in advance, based on team handicap. If two or more teams have the same team handicap, the order will be determined by the team with the lowest handicapped player. An overall gross competition will also be conducted for prize purposes.

Included in the entry fee is golf, cart, use of the practice facility prior to play, a player dinner after round one and awards luncheon following round two.

Eligibility: Entrant must be an Amateur Golfer with an active USGA Handicap Index® issued by a “member club” of the Nebraska Golf Association. Entrant must also be a member of NWAGA and a “resident” of Nebraska (See below).

An individual is considered to be a resident of Nebraska if they: maintain either a primary or a secondary residence in Nebraska, or are an active duty member of the United States Military stationed in Nebraska, or are a student physically attending college in Nebraska within a time period four-months prior to the event, or are a graduate of a Nebraska high school attending an out-of-state college. If the above criteria are in question, the NWAGA Tournament Committee shall render any final decision.

Field Size: Field is limited to 36 teams (four players).

Entry Fee: Entry fee of $480 must be paid by every team. Entry fee will be refunded regardless of reason if NWAGA is notified (402-505-4653, x103) before the close of entries. After the close of entries, fee will be refunded in the event of a medical condition, if requested before the first day of competition. No refund for any reason after that. A $25 service charge will be deducted from all refunds.

Entry Period: NWAGA only accepts on-line applications. Entries open at 8 a.m. CDT on Monday, July 1, 2019. Entries must be received by NWAGA no later than 5 p.m. CDT on Monday, August 19, 2019. If the competition receives more than the maximum number of entries by 12 p.m. CDT on July 1, a drawing will be used to determine the field and wait list order. If the tournament does not receive more than the maximum number of entries by 12 p.m. CDT on July 1, the field will be determined by order of entry. Entries may be accepted after the deadline, if field is not full, at the discretion of NWAGA. Entries may no longer be accepted once groupings have been announced. Partner substitutions may be made prior to tournament play. Because substitutions may affect a team’s pairing based on handicap every effort should be made to find a new partner with a similar handicap.

Handicap: Individual Handicap Indexes will be based on the August 15 Handicap Revision (maximum Handicap Index of 40.4). A team’s handicap is determined using 20% of the lowest player’s Course Handicap, 15% of the second lowest player’s Course Handicap, 10% of the third lowest player’s Course Handicap and 5% of the highest player’s Course Handicap figured to the hundredth decimal point. Team Handicap will be used to determine the four flights and round one pairing position.

Ties: In case of a tie for first place in flights, for overall low net or overall low gross, the winners in each will be determined by a scorecard play-off.
