WA Golf Ladies Links League
SCRAMBLE RULES
1. Scramble Format
Each player plays from the teeing area on each hole, one of the tee shots is selected and both players play their second shots from that spot. One of the second shots is then selected, and both players play their third shots from that spot, and so on until the ball is holed. Team members are partners in applying the Rules.
2. Team Handicap – Scoring
Each team will receive one, team scorecard. When scoring, only record the team’s gross score on the scorecard for each hole. Your team’s net score for the round will be calculated by WA Golf and will be obtained by subtracting a combination of 35% of the low player’s course handicap and 15% of the high player’s course handicap.
3. Tee Shots
There is no limit to how many tee shots each player must use.
4. Selected Shot – Other than Putting Green
Each team member may place her ball within one club-length of the selected shot but no nearer the hole. If the shot selected is played from a penalty area, bunker, primary rough, secondary rough, fairway or fringe of the green, a ball must be played within one club-length of the selected shot, no nearer the hole, and must remain in the penalty area, bunker, primary rough, secondary rough, fairway or fringe of the green.
5. Placing the Ball – General Area & Penalty Areas
A team member may improve her lie by placing the ball. The ball is in play when the player has placed the ball and it is at rest. Once the ball has been placed, it may not be re-marked and placed again.
6. Placing the Ball – Bunker
When playing from a bunker, the bunker may be smoothed or raked prior to a ball being placed. Any team member may smooth or rake the bunker.
7. Placing the Ball – Putting Green
A team member may improve her lie by placing the ball within one putterhead length from the mark, no closer to the hole. A ball marker may be left in place to mark the spot of the original ball on the putting green during the stroke.
8. Standing on an Extension of Line of Play
Team members may stand behind a player, on an extension of her line of play, while the player is making a stroke.
