Format: 18 Holes, Doubles Competition
- All Men will play from the WHITE/BLUE tees (6,192 yards).
- All Women will play from the YELLOW/RED tees (5,050 yards).
Doubles Golf® uses the two-player “Better Shot” format. Teams of two follow the process below:

Tee Shots:
Both players tee off from the teeing ground, and the team selects the preferred ball for their next shot. -
Lift, Clean, and Place (One Club-Length):
After selecting the ball, it is marked. Each player may lift, clean, and place their ball within one club-length, no closer to the hole. -
Lie Improvement Limitations:
A ball may be moved from rough to fairway using the one club-length rule; however, free relief may not be used to move a ball out of a penalty area, out of a bunker, or onto a green. -
On the Green:
Once the team reaches the green, the selected ball is marked, and players may place their ball within one club-head of the mark, in any direction, no closer to the hole.
Handicap: Handicap Indexes® will be computed as of the October 12, 2026 Revision.
Rules of Play: The USGA® Rules of Golf are in effect and are supplemented by the Mass Golf rules card. The Committee will provide any additional Local Rules needed at the site. It is the individual player’s responsibility to know the Conditions of the Competition. The use of distance measuring devices is permitted.
Starting Time: Shotgun start at 10:00 AM - please refer to starting holes and pairings under "Starting Times" above.
Prizes: Pro Shop credit will be awarded to the top three finishing teams in each of Gross & Net.
Golf Carts: Each foursome will be provided with two carts. Please contact Kyle Sherman if you have any questions or concerns.
Golf Shop: The golf shop will be open. Tees and ball markers will be available for distribution prior to the round but should also be available for sale in the golf shop. It is highly recommended that players have all the necessary items for a round of golf before arriving, as supplies may be limited.
Practice Area: The practice green will be open. The driving range at Whitinsville is limited in distance - please plan accordingly.
Dress Code: Shirts with collars are mandatory. No jeans, cargo shorts or jean shorts. Any questions, please refer to the host club policy.
Food and Beverage: Grill-style food and beverage will be available for purchase.
Care of the Course: Please repair all divots, bunker wear and ball marks, and prevent unnecessary damage.
Scoring: Online/Mobile Scoring via the Golf Genius app.
- One player in the group will be required to serve as the marker for the group and input all scores using Golf Genius.
- A paper scorecard will be provided for a player’s own notes – it does not have any status as an official scorecard.
- Before approaching the scoring area, the official marker and the verifier MUST agree to the group’s hole by hole scores.
Pace of Play: Our target pace of play for Member Days is 15 minutes per hole; a 4 ½ hour round.
