QUALIFYING MEMORANDUM TO PLAYERS

QUALIFYING PORTAL: Follow the link for pairings, live scoring, results and player information. You can also access the qualifying portal by using the Golf Genius app on your mobile device. To access the page, login using the GGID: USSRAM-AK26
QUALIFYING YARDAGE: 6,519 yards, par-71. Qualifying yardage is subject to change based on weather/course conditions.
FORMAT/QUALIFYING PLACES: Stroke play competition conducted over 18 holes. The field of 5 players will compete for one (1) qualifying places and two (2) alternate positions that will advance into the U.S. Senior Amateur Championship at Baltimore Country Club in Baltimore, Maryland on August 29th - September 3rd, 2026.
PRACTICE ROUND AVAILABILITY: Non-hosted practice rounds are available prior to the qualifier and may be scheduled online or by calling the Settlers Bay GC pro shop at (907) 376-5466. Practice round starting times are available on a first-come, first-serve basis on Sunday, July 26 for all contestants. Payers are encouraged to schedule their practice round early to secure their desired time. Settlers Bay uses a dynamic price model, and practice round green fees can be viewed online at www.settlersbay.com.
STARTING TIMES: Available on the Washington Golf website (wagolf.org) and on the qualifying portal. Online scoring will also be available on the website and portal during qualifying. Starting times will be from 8:00 a.m. – 8:10 a.m. off the #1 tee.
PLAYOFF: In the event of a tie for the last qualifying place or for the order of alternates, there will be a hole-by-hole playoff to determine the final qualifiers and the 1st and 2nd alternates if necessary. All announcements regarding the play-off and start time will be made via text message and email.
GOLF SHOP: The golf shop will be open at 6:30 a.m.
FOOD SERVICE: Food service at The Albatross Restaurant will begin 10:00 a.m. with a full lunch menu available.
METHODS OF PAYMENT ACCEPTED: All major credit cards, cash and Apple Pay are accepted.
LOCKER ROOM: The men’s locker room will be available for player use. Individual lockers are available and players are required to bring their own lock.
PRACTICE FACILITIES/RANGE BALLS: Range balls will be hosted and players will need to check in with the golf shop upon arrival to receive a range token.
CADDIES: Caddies are permitted. Host club caddies are not available. All caddies must wear a caddie bib distributed on the starting tee.
PULL CARTS: Pull carts are permitted. Host club pull carts are not available. Players may provide their own pull cart.
CARTS: Carts will be available for rent for $27 per seat. No more than two carts will be allowed per group. Players can rent a cart inside the golf shop prior to the round. The USGA Cart Policy for Senior Amateur Championships is in effect.
FOOTWEAR: Rule 4.3 is modified in this way: During a round, a player must not wear shoes with traditionally-designed spikes - that is, spikes having single or multiple points designed to penetrate deeply into the surface of the ground (regardless of whether made of metal, ceramic, plastic or other materials) or spikes of any design that are either entirely or partially made of metal, if such metal may come in contact with the course. Penalty for breach of this Local Rule: See Rule 4.3.
DRIVERS/GOLF BALLS: The Local Rule for Conforming Driver Heads is in effect, See Model Local Rule G-1. The Local Rule requiring that all golf balls used be on the List of Conforming Golf Balls is in effect. See Model Local Rule G-3. Please check the USGA website, www.usga.org, for a list of approved golf balls and drivers.
GROOVES: The players clubs must conform to the grooves and punch mark specifications in The Rules of Golf that are effective from January 1, 2010. See Model Local Rule G-2. UNDERSTANDING THE GROOVES LOCAL RULE
DMDS: The use of distance-measuring devices (DMD) to measure distance only (Rule 4.3) is permitted. UNDERSTANDING THE RULES OF DMDs
PACE OF PLAY: It is a condition that players must play without undue delay and in accordance with guidelines established by the Committee. PACE OF PLAY GUIDELINES
EVACUATION PLAN: In the event of a discontinuance of play during the qualifier, players must adhere to the evacuation plan distributed by the Committee. The evacuation plan will be emailed to players the day prior to the qualifier and will be available on the starting tee.
CODE OF CONDUCT: As set forth in the USGA application, the code of conduct applies to all USGA Qualifying and Championships.
PERSONAL APPEARANCE: Players must be neat in appearance with respect to personal grooming and clothing.
AWARD CEREMONY: A Silver Medal will be awarded to the lowest scorer.
