Northeast Match Play Invitational

 

Cost: $100 per player.
 

Format: Individual match play, matches must be played in the "round window."  

Round Windows:  Amateur Division - Round of 16 (June 1-30), Quarterfinals (July 1-31) and Semifinals (Aug. 1-31).
                               Senior Amateur Divsion - Quarterfinals (July 1-31) and Semifinals (Aug. 1-31).
                               Super-Senior Amateur Divisoion - Quarterfinals (July 1-31) and Semifinals (Aug. 1-31).

                               The Championship Match for all divisions will be Sept. 24th at the Country Club of Scranton. 

 

Host Course: The player on top of the bracket each round will have the honour and should host each match at thier home club.
If the player on top of the bracket does not wish to host, the player on the bottom of the bracket may host the match at their home club.

The player who hosts should set the tee times up at their respective club, cart fees should be billed directly to GAP.

All other expenses are the responsibility of the players at each host venue.  

 

Eligibility: Open to current GAP Members in good standing, with the 2026 invitations based on the 2025 GAP/AGA Player of The Year Points.
The intitial year the Players of the Year will be seeded #1, all subsequent years the current Match Play Champion to be seeded #1.

 

Field Size: 16 Amateurs, 8 Senior Amateurs, and 8 Super-Senior Amateurs.

 

Pairing Reccomendations:  Players are encouraged to compete in "twosomes" without outside players (players in head to head match only).
Players are encouraged to schedule early times so that they are not held up by member play (match play should move quickly).

 

Automotive Transportation: Required in this event. The cart fee, which includes range balls, is in included in your entry fee.

Rules & "Claims":  The GAP Hard Card and published host venue local rules be used.   
GAP will provide a referee to oversee each of the championship match finals.  In all other rounds of the competition, if players have an issue with a ruling or can not reach an agreement, they should promptly request the assistance of the host club professional or call GAP for any ruling requests or disputes.  

Prizes: The winners or each division will receive an trophy, and both the winer and runner-up will be awarded prizes at the luncheon following the final match.

 

Match Results: Once matches are set, GAP will provide a GGID for players to score thier respective match.  Results will be considered final when committee verify's results, each round day.  If you have any questions players are asked to reach out via email to Patrick Lloyd at plloyd@gapgolf.org.
 

*note that if a match is not compled in the round window stated above, GAP will determine a winner via coin toss.
