TERMS OF THE COMPETITION



 ELIGIBILITY

  • This event is open to all amateur male and female golfers that meet the TCGA Membership requirements.
    • Age: To compete in the Senior Division, players must be at least 55 years old as of June 12th, 2026.
    • Age: To compete in the Open or Women's Division, players must be at least 14 years old as of June 12th, 2026
  • TCGA Region includes the counties of Broome, Chenango, Tioga, Delaware, Susquehanna (PA) and Bradford (PA).
    • As the TCGA works through progressive expansion to the West, we are expanding the eligible counties to include Chemung, Schuyler, and Steuben for all events with the exception of the Open Division for the Harding Brooks Insurance Agency TCGA Amateur Championship.

 

ENTRIES, DEADLINE, AND REFUND POLICY

  • Entries: An entry must be submitted online with payment prior to the deadline. Late entries will not be accepted, regardless of reason.
  • Entry Fee (Includes Green Fees, Carts, and Range Use for Rounds 1 & 2, Prizes, and Awards):
    • Open Division: $140
      • Additional $30 cash paid to BCC for greens fee, carts, and range use for all players who make the cut
      • Additional $10 per day per player payable to the pro shop for optional skins game (skins game combined for all divisions) 
    • Senior Division: $130
      • Additional $30 cash paid to BCC for greens fee, carts, and range use for all players who make the cut
      • Additional $10 per day per player payable to the pro shop for optional skins game (skins game combined for all divisions) 
    • Women’s Division: $120
      • Additional $30 cash paid to BCC for greens fee, carts, and range use for all players who make the cut
      • Additional $10 per day per player payable to the pro shop for optional skins game (skins game combined for all
        divisions)
  • Deadline: Entries must be received prior to the deadline (5PM EST on Tuesday, June 9, 2026). Late entries will not be accepted, regardless of reason.
  • Refund Policy: The entry fee, less a $10 service fee, will be refunded if a player withdraws prior to the close of registrations (5PM EST on Tuesday, June 9, 2026). No refund will be awarded after the registration deadline.

 

  • *Members at Chenango Valley State Park & Links at Hiawatha Landing may contact their home club directly for inquiries about greens fee reimbursement.

  •  Harding Brooks Insurance Agency 97th TCGA Amateur Championship (Open Division) - Stroke Play, 54 Holes
    • Friday, June 12 // Round 1 // Chenango Valley State Park GC // Tee times starting at approximately 12:30 PM
    • Cut: For Open Division participants only, there will be a first round cut for anyone outside of 30 shots of the first-round leader.
    • Saturday, June 13 // Round 2 // Links at Hiawatha Landing // Tee times starting at approximately 12:30 PM
    • Cut: There is a cut after 36 holes to the top-30 and ties.
    • Sunday, June 14 // Round 3 // Binghamton CC // Tee times starting at approximately 11:30 AM

  • Each round will be played as two stipulated nine hole rounds in case of a weather disturbance delaying play beyond sundown.
  • In the event of a tie at the conclusion of play, a sudden death playoff shall determine the winner, beginning on hole 1 and continuing until
    there is a winner.
  • In the event of a tie at the conclusion of play, and if play has been suspended for the remainder of the day due to inclement
    weather, USGA tiebreaker rules shall determine the winner, and are as follows:
  • Gross score for last 9 holes (For 18 hole final round only); if still tied continue
  • Gross score for last 6 holes; if still tied continue
  • Gross score for last 3 holes; if still tied continue
  • Gross score for final hole played; if still tied continue
  • Gross score for hardest handicap hole 

 

WORLD AMATEUR GOLF RANKINGS (WAGR)
The tournament results will be submitted for World Amateur Golf Rankings (WAGR) Points provided field size requirements are met.

 

PLAYER OF THE YEAR POINTS
This event awards
Remlik’s Player of the Year points for the Open Division as outlined on the Point System and Eligibility page.

 

RULES

All play will be governed by the USGA Rules of Golf. Players will be provided a "Notice to Players" rules sheet containing local rules and conditions. The TCGA/NYSGA staff and/or the host course golf professional will be available to provide rulings and answer questions.

 

FIRST ROUND TEE TIMES & PAIRINGS

The pairings will be available following the close of entries, and will be emailed to all players. Pairing requests will not be accommodated for individual stroke play championship events. Timing of second round and third round pairings will be division and score based and automatically generated.

 

GHIN POSTING

Scores will automatically be posted to each participant's USGA/GHIN Handicap at approximately 11:00 PM following the completion of the tournament round.

 

GOLF CARTS

The use of golf carts is permitted during the event, and is included in entry fee for Round 1 and Round 2 - for players that make the cut, a $30 cart
fee which includes use of the driving range is payable in the Binghamton Country Club pro shop before Round 3.

 

CADDIES

The use of a caddie is permitted, although groups are STRICTLY limited to 2 carts total and each player in the group is entitled to one seat before a caddie may ride in an open seat. For example, a threesome where two players bring caddies cannot take a 3rd golf cart, they must work out which caddie will ride in the open seat, caddies may alternate riding as well.

 

Players who are in the tournament field in any division are NOT permitted to caddy for another player in any division at any time before, during, or after their round. However, players cut after Round 2 are permitted to caddy for another player during the final round. Players and caddies are NOT permitted to play on the tournament course the day of the tournament round prior to play for any of the three rounds of the tournament.

TROPHIES & NYSGA EXEMPTIONS

2026 TCGA Amateur Champion

  • Hold the TCGA Amateur trophy for a year with their name engraved as the 2026 TCGA Amateur champion 

  • Receive 2026 TCGA Amateur Champion commemorative plaque

  • Receive an exemption into the 2026 NYS Amateur Championship (Glens Falls CC) and the 2026 NYS Mid-Amateur (CC of Buffalo). The
    champion must also meet NYSGA membership and championship specific requirements to be accepted into these events.

  • Receive 2026 TCGA Senior Amateur Champion commemorative plaque

2026 TCGA Women's Amateur Champion

PRIZES

Pro shop credit (prize payouts) will be awarded to approximately 20% of the field of each division. There will be an optional $10 per person skins game available each day, payable in the host course pro shop upon registration/check-in.
