33rd MID-AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP

October 5-6, 2026

CHAMPIONSHIP FORMAT:

  • 36 Holes of stroke-play
  • 108 players, comprised of exempt players and qualifiers, will compete in the championship
     

Monday, October 5: 18 Holes Stroke Play
       Cut to Low 48 Players plus ties after Round 1
       Senior Division Cut: Low 15 players plus ties

Tuesday, October 6: 18 Holes Stroke Play

 

Eligibility: Male amateur golfers who have a membership with a RIGA member club and who have
reached their 25th birthday by October 5, 2026.  A player may not have a men’s Handicap Index
of more than 10.0.  2026 RIGA Eligibility Policy


SENIOR DIVISION: For competitors who have reached their 55th birthday by Oct. 5, 2026.
The low 18 Seniors plus ties will play Round Two. If a Senior plays the back tee, they will be
competing in the main event only. Should a Senior playing in the main event earn Player of the
Year points, they will be added to the Senior Player of the Year.

 
Exemptions: 33rd Mid-Amateur Championship Exempt Player List


PRE-QUALIFYING ROUNDS:

Thursday, September 10: Lincoln CC
Wednesday, September 16: South Shore Village GC
Monday, September 21: Glocester CC
Wednesday, September 23: Met Links GC

 

Each qualifying site will be limited to 39 players. Each player will have the choice as to which site
they would like to play, until that site becomes full. The number of qualifiers at each qualifier will
be determined by the RIGA after entries close, based on the size of the field at each site.

Alternates: an alternate pool will be formed that includes ALL players from each qualifying site
with the next best score after the cut line.  After qualifying, all players in the pool will then be
randomly selected and ranked by number as alternates. The alternate list for will be published,
posted online and updated as players are added to the Championship Proper.

ENTRIES CLOSE: Wednesday, September 2, 2026
 

PLAYER INFORMATION & PAIRINGS: Complete tournament details, including information about
practice rounds, pairings, starting times, and yardages played, will be emailed and posted on
rigalinks.org after entries close.


ENTRY FEE:
QUALIFYING FEE: $120.
CHAMPIONSHIP FEE: $75. Player’s advancing to the Championship will be responsible
for a $75.00 Championship fee.  This fee will be due from the player upon being transferred to
the Championship proper in the online registration system.  The credit card used to initially
register will be charged $75.00 to complete the processing of the Championship fee.

EXEMPT PLAYER FEE: $185. For players who are exempt from pre-qualifying and includes
the Entry fee, Championship fee and lunch on day 1 of the Championship Proper.

LATE ENTRIES: If a player wishes to enter a tournament after the entry deadline, and if there
is an available spot for that player, there will be an additional charge of $25.00. 

 

CART & CADDIE POLICY: Cart fees are included in the entry fee for all stages of the event. 
A player may carry, use a pull cart or employ a caddie at any stage of the event.

 

CONDITIONS/SCHEDULES:  The RIGA reserves the right to alter any of the conditions and
schedules herein.  The decision of the RIGA in any matter shall be final.
