2026 Magnolia Challenge

The Charlotte, North Carolina LPGA Amateurs Chapter is honored to host the 2026 Magnolia Challenge. This year’s tournament is going to be held at Tanglewood Park Golf Courses located in Clemmons, NC, approximately 70 miles north of Charlotte, NC on Friday, October 16th – Sunday, October 18th, 2026.
Tanglewood Park is a lovely recreation center and park located on the Yadkin River between Clemmons and Bermuda Run. It is home to two golf courses, the Championship Course and the Reynolds Course, both designed by the famous Robert Trent Jones, Sr. Additional attractions include the Tanglewood Park Arboretum and Rose Garden, a public pool, a dog park, horse stables, and Mallard Lake for fishing and paddleboat rental. The surrounding area offers a variety of places to stay, including options to stay on-site at Tanglewood.
Event Overview
Consistent with Magnolia Challenge tradition, we will gather on Friday thru Sunday (Oct 16-18) with official events. We’ll start on Friday evening with a Meet ‘n Greet, followed by a Fourball Match Play competition on Saturday at the Championship Course, and finishing with a 4-person fun scramble Sunday at the Reynolds Course. We will have shotgun starts on both tournament days, starting with plenty of time to finish in the warm Carolina sunshine!
On Saturday, all Chapters (a total of 120 players) will be split across two teams to compete in Four-ball Match Play. Players will be paired with other players based on your GHIN handicaps. Players will have the option to play in scramble teams or just for fun, individual play on Sunday.
The registration fee is $375 per player, excluding accommodations. The registration fee includes:
- Two days of all-inclusive golf (Saturday and Sunday)
- Meet and Greet / Rules Social Event with heavy appetizers on Friday evening/night
- Awards Banquet on Saturday evening (will also include 50/50 and Raffle Drawings)
- Grab ‘n Go Breakfasts on Saturday and Sunday
- And Mementos!
Note: The fee does not include room accommodations or any optional practice rounds on Friday.
19 Chapters – 6 States and the District of Columbia!
Players representing 19 LPGA Amateurs Chapters across Georgia, Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and Washington DC will be invited to participate in the 2026 Magnolia Challenge. The 120-player field will be divided by handicap and Chapter-based teams for the Saturday four-ball tournament.
Event Registration
Players must be active members of LPGA Amateurs Chapters and have an established GHIN handicap. The event will be open for 120 players, on a first come first serve basis. Golf Genius will be used to manage the registration, roster, waitlist, and tournament details. Cancellations will be managed using potential partial refunds, depending on the timing of the cancellation.
Fundraising
Proceeds from door prizes and 50/50 raffle will support Charlotte area charities (specific details forthcoming).

Event Timing
- Pre-registration / intent to play (no payments yet): Ends May 31, 2026
- $100 deposits open June 1-30
- Final payments due August 15, 2026
