Format:

One 18-hole stipulated round of individual stroke play.  Contestants will play from the USGA Tee Markers wherever they are situated (see Yardage sheet).  The low two individuals will advance to the U.S. Senior Open Championship at Salem Country Club in Salem, Massachusetts on June 29-July 2, 2017. Any play-offs will take place immediately after the conclusion of play for the last spot(s) and two alternate positions.

 

Competition Schedule:

Starting times will start at 8:30am off of hole #1 and 8:35am off #10.

Please check the Pairings and Starting Times link for groupings and starting times. Please be at your assigned tee at least 10 minutes prior to your starting time.

 

Practice Round Information:

Contestants are provided one complimentary practice round during the afternoon hours beginning Tuesday, May 12th. Please call the Pro Shop to schedule a practice round. Cart fee is $30. Practice rounds available to CONTESTANTS ONLY – no guest play permitted.

 

Cart Information:

Automotive transportation is prohibited. Players and caddies must walk.

Pull-carts are permitted. SPECTATOR CARTS ARE PROHIBITED.

 

Caddies:

Caddies are permitted; however, there are no caddies available at Green Valley Country Club.

 

Practice Balls:

Provided for players prior to and following competition round at no cost. The practice range will open at 6:30am.

 

Payment Information:

Cash and major Credit Cards are accepted for all purchases at golf shop. Food and beverage payment is cash only.

 

Food and Beverage Information:

The Terrace restaurant will be open for breakfast at 6:00am. The pool snack bar will open at 6:30am. CASH ONLY.

 

Withdrawals:

Notify the NCGA at 831-625-4653 to withdraw.  Players that fail to notify the NCGA prior to their starting time will be listed as No Shows.

 

Refunds:

In the event of injury or illness, contact the USGA at 908-234-2300 for a refund prior to June 29, 2017. No refunds will be issued after June 29, 2017.  A $35 service charge will be deducted from all refunds.

 

ADDITIONAL RULES INFORMATION

 

Rules Information:

The Rules of Golf effective January 1, 2016 are in effect and are supplemented by the 2017 USGA Hard Card.  The Committee will provide any additional Local Rules needed at the qualifying site.  It is the player’s responsibility to know the conditions of the competition.

 

Limitation of Golf Balls:

The optional condition in Appendix I known as the “One Ball” Rule is in effect. See Appendix I.

 

Automotive Transportation:

The use of automotive transportation is prohibited for players and caddies.  See Appendix I.

 

Footwear:

Shoes with traditionally-designed spikes (regardless of composition, i.e., ceramic, plastic, etc.) or spikes, regardless of design, comprised entirely or partially of metal (if such metal may come in contact with the course) are prohibited during the stipulated round.  Penalty for breach of this condition: Disqualification.

 

Distance-Measuring Devices:

Distance-Measuring Devices are NOT permitted.

 

Grooves Condition:

Optional condition prescribed in Decision 4-1/1 is in effect.  You may check to see if your grooves are conforming by using the Informational Club Database - http://www.usga.org/InfoClubsDB/intro.html
