NOTICE TO COMPETITORS
The Rules of Golf as approved by the United States Golf Association and The R&A govern play, except where modified by a Local Rule on this sheet only. All references may be found in the Official Guide to the Rules of Golf, effective January 1, 2023.

PACE OF PLAY: The maximum allowable time is 4 hours and 45 minutes. If a group is both off their pace and out of position (more than 15 minutes behind the group in front), they will receive a warning and their play will be monitored until they are in position. If they are unable to regain their position on the golf course, the player (or players) are subject to penalty.
DOUBT AS TO PROCEDURE (Rule 20.1c(3)): A player who is uncertain about the right procedure while playing a hole may complete the hole with two balls without penalty:

- The player must decide to play balls after the uncertain situation arises and before making their next stroke.
- The player should choose which ball will count if the Rules allow, by announcing that choice to his or her marker before making a stroke at the ball.
- The player must report the facts of the situation to the Committee before returning the scorecard, even if the player scores the same with both balls. Failure to do so will result in disqualification.
AUTOMOTIVE TRANSPORTATION: All players must carry their own bag or use a push cart. Players are permitted to use a shuttle cart on hole #6.
OUT OF BOUNDS: Defined by white stakes, white lines, split rail fences, chain link fences, and the interior edge, at ground level, of curbing on all public roads. See Rule 18. *A ball which crosses a public road defined as out of bounds is out of bounds, even though it may lie on another part of the course.
ABNORMAL COURSE CONDITIONS (Rule 16.1)

Ground Under Repair: defined by white lines. French drains are ground under repair.

Model Local Rule F-7 is in effect; Sod Seams: if a player’s ball is in the general area and the ball lies in or touches a seam of cut turf or a seam interferes with the player’s area of intended swing, the player may take relief under Rule 16.1b. Interference does not exist if the seam only interferes with the player’s stance.

Immovable Obstructions Close to Putting Green (MLR F-5.1) is in effect but applies only when both the ball and the obstruction (typically a sprinkler head) are in the general area cut to fairway height or less.
IMMOVABLE OBSTRUCTIONS: Paved, stone, and gravel cart paths are immovable obstructions and relief may be taken in accordance with Rule 16.1b. Individual wood chips or mulch on a road or path are defined as loose impediments. GUR areas leading into cart paths will have the same status as the path, that of obstructions.

PENALTY AREAS: Artificial walls/bulk heads located in penalty areas are integral parts of the golf course. When a penalty area is defined on only one side, it extends to infinity. When a penalty area is connected to the out of bounds edge, the penalty area extends to and coincides with out of bounds.
*Dropping Zone for yellow penalty area on Hole #11, and #14- If a ball is in or it is known or virtually certain that a ball that has not been found last crossed the margin of the lateral penalty area (yellow stakes and lines), the player may: 1) proceed under Rule 17.1; or 2) as an additional option, drop a ball, under penalty of one stoke, in the dropping zone.
**Environmentally Sensitive Areas - The red penalty area left of #9 is a No Play Zone. Entry into and play from this area is prohibited. Players will incur a two stroke penalty if they play from this area.
STOPPING AND RESUMING PLAY (Rule 5.7) An immediate suspension of play (dangerous situation) will be signaled by one prolonged air horn note. All other types of suspension will be signaled by three consecutive air horn notes. Resumption of play will be signaled by two short air horn notes. During an immediate suspension for a dangerous situation, all practice areas are closed until the Committee has declared them open. Players who disregard such closing are subject to penalty.
SCORECARDS: Scorecards must be returned to the scoring area IMMEDIATELY following the conclusion of a player’s round. To avoid possible penalty, players should remain in the designated scoring area until the official in charge has accepted their card. Please print clearly.

PLAYOFFS - If, after regulation play, a tie exists for first place in individual competition, the committee will conduct a sudden-death playoff until a winner is determined. Team playoff procedures can be found in the DIAA Golf Manual.
