44th C.R. Miller Memorial Junior Match Play Invitational

July 10-11, 2017 at Fox Chapel Golf Club

 

Please find information related to the C.R. Miller Memorial Match Play Invitational on Monday, July 10, 2017 and Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at Fox Chapel Golf Club in Pittsburgh, PA.  

 

The field is 16 contestants.  Day 1 will consist of 8 matches in the morning with the winners of those matches playing 4 matches in the afternoon.  Day 2 will consist of the semi-final matches in the morning and the final match in the afternoon.  Additional information will be distributed on the starting tee.

Practice—Practice rounds are available on the weekdays of Tuesday through Friday only, based on availability.  No practice rounds are available on weekends or holidays.  The PGA Golf Professional is Alexander Childs.  Practice rounds must be arranged in advance, please contact the golf shop at 412-963-7885.  Practice rounds are for confirmed competitors only and are at no cost to walk.  Guests of competitors are not permitted for practice rounds.

 

Note to Parents & Guardians— A parent, stepparent, or guardian may not serve as a caddie.  Spectator carts are not permitted for use during the championship.  Breakfast & lunch is provided and paid for the players and their caddies only.

 

Format—Match Play field of sixteen players. Play is governed by the USGA Rules of Golf. 

 

Tee Markers—The course will play roughly 6,700 yards depending on conditions and yardages will vary from round to round.

 

Transportation/Caddies—Players and caddies are required to walk for the championship.  Players may bring their own caddies if they choose.  Caddies must walk in performance of their duties.  A parent, stepparent, or guardian may not serve as a caddie.  Fox Chapel does offer caddies. Players interested in hiring a club caddie should inquire in advance with the golf shop.  Golf bag push carts are not permitted for the competition.

 

Footwear—METAL CLEATS ARE PROHIBITED—PENALTY IS DISQUALIFICATION.

 

Food—The WPGA provides a continental breakfast in the morning, water on the course and lunch for players and caddies only between rounds.  All other food and beverage charges are the responsibility of the player. 

 

Lodging—Hotels of various price ranges can be found in the Greater Pittsburgh area.

 

Spectator Info—No spectator carts will be permitted for the competition.  Lunch will not be avaiable at the club for spectators on Monday, please plan accordingly.
