BUTTERFIELD BERMUDA CHAMPIONSHIP LOCAL QUALIFIER 2026

INFORMATION

The 2026 Butterfield Bermuda Championship Qualifier competition will be held at Port Royal Golf Course on Tuesday, September 8th and Wednesday, September 9th, 2026

Three Bermudian golfers will be offered qualifying spots to compete in Bermuda’s 8th annual PGA TOUR event which is scheduled October 22nd - 25th at its host location, Port Royal Golf Course, Southampton, Bermuda. Two (2) exemptions into the Butterfield Bermuda Championship will be honored in 2026 and one (1) will be honored for the 2027 Butterfield Bermuda Championship.

ELIGIBILITY

Entries are open to Amateur and Professional players and applicants for reinstatement. To be eligible to compete in the local qualifying event, participants must meet the following criteria:
i)     Players must possess Bermudian status (email info@bermudagolf.org for details)
ii)    Players must be in good standing with the BGA or BPGA and not subject to any disciplinary process or sanction of either association
iii)   Amateurs and applicants for reinstatement must have an up-to-date handicap index not exceeding 1.4 under the World Handicap System

Note: A player’s scoring record may not include any scores from before September 1st, 2025

FORMAT

The event is a 36-hole individual stroke play competition. Players will be paired in groups of three and all play will be from the Black tees (6,742 yards; 75.2 / 138).

SCHEDULE

Practice Round - Monday, 7th September 2026 - Call pro shop to book a tee time. Note: This is a public holiday.
Round 1 – Tuesday, 8th September 2026 – Tee times will begin at 8:00am
Round 2 – Wednesday, 9th September 2026 – Tee times will begin at 8:00am
