Perpetual Match Series Competition (aka The PMS CUP) - September 26
It’s time to sign up for our annual match play competition against the LA Chapter. This event, called the Perpetual Match Series (aka the PMS Cup), is being held at the Soule Park Golf Course in Ojai, CA.
The PMS Cup uses match play scoring. This means that the game is scored hole by hole using the better score of the two players from one team in one cart versus their opponents in the other cart. The object is to win the most holes to win the match. The chapter which wins the most matches will take home the PMS Cup.
There are no qualifiers for this competition. The team will consist of the first 20 players to sign up, plus 2 alternates to play in the event someone can’t make it. We hope for a full team of players to turn out and enjoy themselves…and of course to bring home the Cup!
Players will be paired with someone whose course handicap is within 5 of theirs. You will share a cart with someone from the SB Chapter. Your competitors will be in their own cart.
PMS Cup Details
- Saturday September 26
- Tee Times start at 8:00am
- You should be in your cart and at the first tee 15 minutes ahead of your tee time.
- $115 per player (includes green fees, cart, range balls and an awards lunch after golf)
- Registration closes Friday, September 18 at 5pm
- This year the awards lunch will be held at the Agave Maria restaurant which is less than 3 minutes away by car from the course. We will have a Taco Bar and Cheese Encaladas and a Green Salad, plus rice, beans, chips & salsa including vegetarian options.
- There will be a Trophy Presentation to the winning chapter after lunch.
This is a friendly competition and can be lots of fun. Players of all golf levels are encouraged to sign up. It’s a great opportunity to give tournament play a try.
SB Chapter has the Cup in our trophy window at the SBGC where it’s been for over 12 years. Let’s do our best to keep it here!
