Golf Tournament
- FORMAT
Competition will consist of 5 nine-hole Four-Ball Matches. The format of each match will be the net best ball of one team versus the net best ball of the opposing team on a hole-by-hole basis in each flight.
27 holes (3 nine-hole matches) will be played on Saturday, October 5th
18 holes (2 nine-hole matches) will be played on Sunday, October 6th
Matches will be played off the low handicap player. The low handicap player will play at scratch and all others in the match will receive a percentage of their handicap. Half strokes will be rounded up.
Each hole will be worth one point. The team winning a hole will be awarded one point. A hole that results in a tie will yield each team ½ point. Each match will be worth one additional point. The team winning the most points in a match will be awarded an additional point. A match that results in a tie will yield an additional ½ point to each team.
Flight winner will be the team that accumulates the most points over the two days. Ties within each flight will be decided by the result of the original match between the two teams tied. If there is still a tie, the points made in the seventh match and going backwards will break the tie.
- FORMATION OF FLIGHTS
The field will be limited to 48 teams (8 flights with 6 teams in each flight). Teams will be flighted using combined handicap index of each team member. The six lowest combined handicaps will form Flight #1. The second lowest six will form Flight #2, and so on until all flights are formed. (Note: At the match level there will be a maximum of 8 strokes between team members.) Senior Players (Age 62 years of age or older) may play the Green Tees. Anyone playing from the Green Tees will be subject to the handicap adjustment.
- SHOOTOUT
A SHOOTOUT will be held at 5:00pm Friday, October 4th. This is an optional event with a $50 entry fee. Format will be team modified alternate shot.
