Match Play – 22-24 January 2020 – St. Michael’s GC

 

The NSW Amateur Championships are National and World Ranking Events.

 

The Championship is open to amateur golfers who hold a current Australian or overseas equivalent GC handicap that does not exceed 5.4 for men and 12.4 for women. Club Champions from NSW Golf Clubs are eligible to enter the Championship if their GA handicap is greater than 5.4.

Medal, Strokeplay & Amateur - $160 online entry / $170 hardcopy entry

Champion of Champions - $110 online entry / $120 hardcopy entry

 

NSW Medal
The NSW Medal is played over two courses. It is two rounds of 18-holes stroke play for the men’s field, played over two days. The field changes venue for their second round. The winner of the 36 holes stroke play section of the Championship is the winner of the NSW Medal.

 

NSW Strokeplay
The NSW Medal is played over two courses. It is two rounds of 18-holes stroke play for the women’s field, played over two days. The field is divided between the two venues for the first day’s play with players changing venues for their second round. The winner of the 36 holes stroke play section of the Championship is the winner of the NSW Strokeplay Championship.

 

Champions of Champions
The Men’s Champion of Champions will be played in conjunction with the NSW Medal. The Women’s Champion of Champions is held separately. For further details see the Golf NSW calendar of events.

 

NSW Amateur Championships
The leading 32 players from the NSW Medal (who have nominated to play in the NSW Amateur) will be eligible to compete in the Men’s NSW Amateur Championship Match Play, with each match played over 18-holes other than the Final which is played over 36-holes. The match play is seeded with ties determined by lot.

 

The leading 16 players from the NSW Strokeplay (who have nominated to play in the NSW Amateur) will be eligible to compete in the Women’s NSW Amateur Championship Match Play, with each match played over 18-holes other than the Final which is played over 36-holes. The match play is seeded with ties determined by lot.

 

NSW Open Exemptions

NSW Medal and Men’s NSW Amateur Champions receive exemptions into the Men’s NSW Open.

 

NSW Strokeplay and Women’s NSW Amateur Champions receive exemptions into the Women’s NSW Open.
