*PLAYER’S MEMORANDUM*

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT INFORMATION

 

 

REGISTRATION FEES

  • All players will be notified how to proceed with the final registration fee payment. The details will be forwarded in a timely manner prior to the week of the KY Open.

 

 

PLAYER REGISTRATION & DRESS CODE

 

  • All Kentucky Open Championship competitors must register with the tournament committee on site at Hurstbourne Country Club by 5:30 p.m. on Monday, July 24, 2017 EDT.* The player registration is located inside the clubhouse in the Thoroughbred Grill (Look for directional signs). Player registration will be open on Monday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. EDT.

PLEASE STOP IN AND REGISTRATION PRIOR TO YOUR PRACTICE ROUND STARTING TIME.

 

  • *Competitors unable to register during these times must notify Bill Coomer, Director, Director, Amateur & Professional Competitions by phone (502) 649-7980 or email (bcoomer@kygolf.org) no later than 5:00 p.m. on Monday, July 24th.

Failure to register or to notify the Director by the above deadline is subject to replacement by alternates.

 

  • ENTRANCE AND PARKING DURING CHAMPIONSHIP WEEK – The entrance lane cutting through the golf course will be closed to all traffic. You must use the entrance located off Hurstbourne Parkway at Seaton Springs.

 

 

  • DRESS CODE POLICY:     ***All players must wear slacks***

 

  • Beginning with the official practice round on Monday, July 24th and all competition rounds, ***all players must wear slacks***, (no denim material) and ***shirts with either standard collars or a mock turtleneck style***. Hurstbourne Country Club is a non-metal spike facility. Caddies must follow all dress code policies but are not bound by the “slacks clause” stated for all contestants. Caddies should not wear golf shoes during competition rounds.

 

FORMAT

 

  • The championship is scheduled to be a 54-hole stroke play competition. There will be a cut to the low 70 players and ties after the first 36 holes of competition. Starting times and pairings for the third round will be determined by scores and are subject to change by the committee. The procedure for a sudden death playoff will be posted on the scoreboard prior to the beginning of the final round

 

PRACTICE ROUND

 

  • Practice rounds for the 2017 Kentucky Open will be available on Monday, July 24th. Along with all competitors, the top three alternates determined by the Kentucky Open Alternate Policy will be eligible to participate in the official practice round. Those alternates will be determined and notified after 5:00 p.m. EDT, Friday, July 21st. Tee time reservations may be made by calling Hurstbourne Country Club. Players must identify themselves as Kentucky Open Championship contestants. Practice rounds may be scheduled from 8:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. EDT. The #1 tee will close at this time for maintenance needs. You may begin making your practice round reservation immediately. Additional practice rounds are at the discretion of HCC and applicable fees may apply.

 

PRACTICE RANGE

 

  • Practice Range hours of operation:
  • Monday > 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. / Tues & Wed > 7:00 a.m. to close / Thurs > 7:00 a.m. to last tee time
  • The artificial mats will be available for additional practice after the last tee time has begun play.
  • All practice balls are complimentary for participants prior to their assigned tee times throughout the competition week.

 

CART USAGE

 

  • Cart fees for each round is $20 per player

Automotive transportation is permitted for this competition. Competitors using carts should be familiar with the USGA Rule 6-4 and Decision 6-4/2.5, which addresses the use of caddies and automotive transportation. During the competition, only two carts per group will be allowed. Players in each group must make arrangements to comply with this condition.

  • Cart privileges are subject to the player/caddy abiding by the club’s policy concerning movement and location of cart traffic. Carts may be restricted to areas designated during the official starter’s announcements prior to the stipulated round. Players are responsible to abide by these regulations.
  • There are NO Spectator Carts available at this championship.

 

FOOD & BEVERAGE

 

  • HCC accepts cash and credit cards for all golf shop and food & beverage transactions. Players are welcome to use the clubhouse facilities during the championship week. All players may receive additional information concerning the food and beverage arrangements at registration.

 

STARTING TIME PROCEDURES

 

  • Clocks indicating the official time will be placed at the practice range, practice putting green and the first and tenth tees. Additional clocks will be placed on the golf course for pace of play purposes. No public announcement will be used for calling players to the tee. Competitors are expected to be on the tee, ready to play, when the first name in the group is called by the committeeman on the tee. A player who is not ready to play when the first name is called will be penalized two strokes, and if after five minutes, is either not present or not ready, will be disqualified. (USGA Decision 6-3a/2)

 

SCORECARD RETURN

 

  • Players are required to return their scorecard to the committee at the scoring center announced at the starting tees, as soon as possible upon completion of their stipulated round.

 

PAIRINGS AND STARTING TIMES

 

  • Pairings and starting times the 1st and 2nd rounds are included with this notice. Competitors who start their 1st round on Tuesday morning will begin play of round two in the afternoon on Wednesday and vice versa. Please review your starting times carefully.

 

ETIQUETTE AND PACE OF PLAY

 

  • All contestants will be held to a high standard of etiquette and responsibility concerning the care and maintenance of the host club’s facilities and golf course. You shall repair ball marks, rake bunkers, replace divots and or fill with sand, and respect the property of others. Any contestant or caddie not abiding by these regulations shall be subject to reprimand and loss of privileges in future KPGA activities.

 

  • Pace of Play guidelines shall be implemented for use during each of the competition rounds. Golf House Kentucky Rules Officials have been charged to apply the guideline procedures when deemed necessary. If your pairing group is found to be either out of position or off pace in regards to time, an official will direct you to make every effort to re-establish yourselves in the correct place on the golf course as quickly as possible. Further directives may include warnings and penalties. Please help make this tournament as enjoyable as possible for everyone by keeping your pace of play within these guidelines.
