This correspondence will verify your entry for the 109th Michigan Amateur Qualifying at Boyne Resorts – Moor on Wednesday, June 3, 2020. 

INFORMATION

TOURNAMENT DATE: Wednesday, June 3rd.

TEE TIME: You should arrive at your assigned tee at least ten (10) minutes prior to your scheduled starting time for instructions from the starter.

DIRECTIONS: Take I-75 to exit 310 (Indian River).  Follow M-68 west to Alanson and junction of M-68 and US-31.  Head south to Conway about 6 miles.  Turn right at light to stop sign and turn right, proceeding 1.4 miles to Pleasantville Rd.  Turn right and follow signs.

PRACTICE ROUND:  Please contact the golf shop for rates and availability, (231) 526-3029.  Contestants must call in advance to reserve a tee time and identify themselves as Michigan Amateur Qualifying contestants.

FOOD:  The clubhouse will have food available for purchase.

GAM DRESS CODE: Shirts with collars and sleeves are required; however, women may wear collarless shirts with sleeves or sleeveless shirts with collars.  Neither tank tops, tee shirts, short shorts, gym shorts, cut-offs, bathing suits nor denim pants/shorts are permitted.  Players and caddies are expected to adhere to the dress code.

GPS AND RANGE FINDERS: The following Rule applies to players and caddies. In this competition, if a player uses a distance-measuring device that is designed to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect his/her play, AND USES IT FOR THOSE OTHER CONDITIONS the player is in breach of Rule 14-3, for which the penalty is TWO STROKES for the first breach of this rule and DISQUALIFICATION for a subsequent breach during the stipulated round.

STATE AMATEUR RESIDENCY: To be eligible to play in the Michigan Amateur Championship and its qualifiers, a player must meet the GAM Residency Criteria. A player is responsible for reviewing and confirming compliance with the criteria. If you feel your Michigan residency may be in question, please contact the GAM. To guarantee a thorough review, contact the GAM at least two weeks prior to the entry deadline. In the event a residency question is presented later than that time, the GAM reserves the right to remove a player from the field at any time.

CADDIES/CARTS:  All players are required to walk. Contestants may carry their own bag or bring their own caddie. Caddies must also walk. Pull carts may be used if the host club allows them. Spectator carts are only permitted if a request, accompanied by a doctor’s note confirming the spectator’s need for a cart, is submitted to the GAM at least two days prior to the competition. PRACTICE RANGE:  Complimentary for players on the day of the competition, prior to play only.  The driving range will open one hour before the first tee time.

PLAYOFF:  In case of ties, there will be a playoff immediately following play for the final spot as well as the order for the two (2) alternate positions.

WITHDRAWAL:  If you have to withdraw, please notify the GAM by e-mailing tournamententry@gam.org. If you must withdraw within 24 hours of the competition, please contact the GAM office at (248) 478-9242 ext. 124. Failure to notify may result in suspension from future GAM competitions.
