INFORMATION

TOURNAMENT DATE: Monday, August 31 – Tuesday, Sept. 1

TEE TIME: You should arrive at your assigned tee at least ten (10) minutes prior to your scheduled starting time for instructions from the starter.

SECOND-ROUND PAIRINGS:  Second-round pairings will be available via www.gam.org. Because of single-cart requests, Round 2 pairings may not be entirely based on Round 1 scores.

DIRECTIONS: Take I-94 to Zeeb Rd. (exit 169) Go S 1 mile. The club entrance is on the left.

PRACTICE ROUND:  Please contact the golf shop for rates and availability, (734) 998-3456. Contestants must call in advance to reserve a tee time and identify themselves as Michigan Net Amateur contestants.

GPS AND RANGE FINDERS: In this competition, if a player uses a distance-measuring device that is designed to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect his/her play, AND USES IT FOR THOSE OTHER CONDITIONS the player is in breach of Rule 4.3, for which the penalty is TWO STROKES for the first breach of this rule and DISQUALIFICATION for a subsequent breach during the stipulated round.

GAM DRESS CODE:  Shirts with collars and sleeves are required; however, women may wear collarless shirts with sleeves or sleeveless shirts with collars.  Neither tank tops, tee shirts, short shorts, gym shorts, cut-offs, bathing suits nor denim pants/shorts are permitted.  Players and caddies are expected to adhere to the dress code.

FOOD:  Lunch will be available for players on both days of the competition. 

CADDIES/CARTS: Caddies are not permitted in this Championship. Automotive transportation is mandatory in this championship. NOTE: Only competitors may ride in the players’ carts. Spectator carts are only permitted if a request, accompanied by a doctor’s note confirming the spectator’s need for a cart, is submitted to the GAM at least two days prior to the competition. PRACTICE RANGE:  Complimentary for players on the day of the competition, prior to play only. Players should not be on any practice area more that 40 minutes before their tee time.

HANDICAPS: In accordance with the World Handicap System recommendation for the stroke play format, all players will be receiving 95% of their course handicap for the competition. Handicap indexes for the competition will be established on the day most administratively practical for the GAM. Handicap indexes and course handicaps will not be altered between rounds.

PLAYOFF: In the event of a tie for the Championship, a three-hole aggregate playoff will begin after all scores are posted.

PRIZES: Prizes will be awarded to the Champion and Runner-Up

WITHDRAWAL:  If you must withdraw, please notify the GAM by e-mailing tournaments@gam.golf. If you must withdraw within 24 hours of the competition, please contact the GAM office at (248) 478-9242 ext. 124. Failure to notify may result in suspension from future GAM competitions.
