Championship Details
Date: June 22-26, 2020
Location: Salishan Golf Links | Gleneden Beach, OR
Entry Fee: $225 (USD)
Entry Includes: Two hosted practice rounds, two rounds of stroke play qualifying, match play rounds for the 32 players who qualify, tee gifts, range balls, one player lunch or meal voucher, crystal awards for medalist and top eight finishers.
Entry Deadline: Monday, June 8, 2020
Eligibility: Entries are open to male amateur golfers who: (1) will have reached their fortieth birthday by June 22, 2020 (2) have an up-to-date USGA Handicap Index or Golf Canada Handicap Factor not exceeding 8.4, and (2) are members in good standing of a PNGA member club.
Field Limit: Field will be limited to 72 qualified entrants. Entries will be accepted according to the time of receipt of entry and entry fee in addition to exempt players.
Schedule:
Championship - 72 players eligible
Stroke Play: 36 holes stroke play to determine 32 qualifiers for match play. A tie for the last qualifier's place will be decided immediately by a hole-by-hole play-off.
Match Play: A draw based on qualifying scores will be used. Ties in qualifying rounds will be decided by a blind draw, except that places of those participating in a play-off will be determined by performance in the play-off.
Practice Round: All players will be allowed two complimentary practice rounds prior to the championship.
Caddies: A player may provide his own caddie. Host club caddies will not be available.
Carts: Players and caddies may ride in a golf cart. Cart fees are $25 (USD) per seat/day. Fees for stroke play qualifying rounds will be collected during registration. Cart fees for match play rounds will be paid to the golf shop on the day of rental.
Exemptions: All past PNGA Men's Master-40 Amateur Champions; 2019 PNGA Men's Master-40 Amateur runner-up, Brad Karns; semifinalists, Brett Curtis and Ray Schuler. Other exempt players: Dale Johnson, Pat O'Donnell, Jay Poletiek, Daniel Swanson.
Lodging: The PNGA has negotiated discounted lodging rates for players and guests.

Players may reserve rooms at the link above or by contacting Kristi Wiard at kwiard@salishan.com | reservations@salishan.com or 541-764-3646. When booking, ask for the PNGA Men’s Master-40 Amateur Championship rate. Players are encouraged to make reservations for Sunday – Wednesday. Players who advance to match play will have their reservations extended as needed. Players who do not advance to match play or who are eliminated later in the week will have until 4:00 p.m. each day to check out of their room.
Note: Championship participants staying at Salishan Resort will only be permitted to share a room with those they share a household with. Salishan Resort will not be charging a resort fee as all common area amenities (gym, pool, etc.) are closed due to COVID-19 state and local guidelines and recommendations.
