All contestants should be familiar with the policies and procedures in place.

 

COVID-19 CHAMPIONSHIP PARTICIPANT WAIVER

All contestants MUST sign the participant waiver prior to arriving at the championship. The waiver will be emailed to all contestants to sign digitally using DocuSign.

 

FIELD SIZE

The Women’s Amateur field has 48 players.

The Women’s Mid-Amateur field has 20 players.

REFUND POLICY

Refunds will not be available after Round 1 pairing are released. *Refunds due to COVID-19 will be granted up until a player begins the championship.

Course yardage is subject to change based on weather/course conditions. Hole-by-hole yardages are posted on the portal HERE.

ONSITE REGISTRATION

All contestants must register in person with the PNGA at The Home Course prior to starting round one play. Registration will be located outside the pavilion during the following times:

SUNDAY, JULY 12:         11:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

MONDAY, JULY 13:          7:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.        

 

STARTING TIMES AND PAIRINGS

Round one and two starting times (stroke play qualifying) will be released on Wednesday, July 1. Preferred starting time requests will not be accepted. Starting times will be posted on the PNGA website (thepnga.org), on the Championship Portal and will be emailed to each player.

 

SCHEDULE (AMATEUR)

STROKE PLAY: 36 holes stroke play to determine 32 qualifiers for match play. A tie for lowest qualifying scorer or the last qualifier’s place will be decided immediately by a hole-by-hole play-off after the final group finished on Tuesday, July 14.

 

MONDAY, JULY 13 (Round 1): Starting times from 8:50 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

TUESDAY, JULY 14 (Round 2): Starting times from 7:30 a.m. – 10:10 a.m.

 

MATCH PLAY: A draw based on qualifying scores will be used. Ties in qualifying rounds will be decided by a blind draw, except that places of those participating in a play-off will be determined by performance in the play-off.

 

WEDNESDAY, JULY 15 (Round of 32): Starting times from 7:30 a.m. – 9:45 a.m.

WEDNESDAY, JULY 15 (Round of 16): Starting times from 12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m.

THURSDAY, JULY 16 (Quarterfinals): Starting times from 7:30 a.m. – 8:00 a.m.

THURSDAY, JULY 16 (Semifinals): Starting times from 12:30 p.m. – 12:40 p.m.

FRIDAY, JULY 17 (Finals): Starting time at 7:30 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.

FRIDAY, JULY 17 (Finals): Starting time at 12:00 p.m.

 

PRACTICE ROUND

All players will be allowed one complimentary practice round prior to the Championship. Practice rounds may be played anytime on weekdays and after 12:00 p.m. on weekends. Local contestants are encouraged to play their practice round anytime during the weeks prior. On Sunday, July 12, a block of times has been reserved from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Contestants can reserve practice round times directly through The Home Course golf shop at (253) 964-0520, beginning on Tuesday, June 23 after the entry deadline. All practice round times are at the discretion of the host club. When making reservations, contestants must identify themselves as a PNGA Women’s Amateur or Women’s Mid-Amateur Championship participant.

 

FOOD SERVICE (NO-HOST)

The snack bar window will be open each day at 6:00 a.m. for breakfast, snack and beverage service. Full menu service in the Golf House Grill will begin at 11:00 a.m. each day. The snack bar window and Golf House Grill will remain open until play is completed each day.

 

BOTTLED WATER

Due to COVID-19, bottled water may be available at limited locations on the golf course for players only (a notification will be sent out prior to the championship with a hydration plan). Snacks and fruit will not be provided. Players are encouraged to bring their own bottled water.

 

HOSTED LUNCH

Lunch will be hosted for all competitors following the second round on Tuesday, July 14.

 

METHODS OF PAYMENT

The Home Course accepts all major credit cards and cash as methods of payment.

 

HOURS OF OPERATION

The golf shop will be open each day from 5:30 a.m. to dusk. The driving range will be open each day from 6:00 a.m. to dusk.

 

RANGE BALLS

Warm-up range balls will be provided to contestants on the driving range before each round.

 

CARTS

Carts will be available to Women’s Mid-Amateur Championship participants for $18 per rider per day and will be collected by the PNGA during registration. Players advancing to match play will pay cart fees directly to The Home Course prior to each round. Please contact the PNGA if you did not register for a cart during registration but would now like to add one. Cart riders will be paired up during stroke play.

 

Women’s Amateur Championship - The Local Rule prohibiting the use of motorized transportation as prescribed in Section 8 of the Committee Procedures is in effect. 

  

SPECTATOR CARTS

To provide an equal championship platform for all competitors, the use of carts by spectators is not permitted by the PNGA. 

 

CHAMPIONSHIP ACCOMMODATIONS FOR DISABLED SPECTATORS

The PNGA is committed to providing an enjoyable spectator experience for people with disabilities at PNGA championships. Requests from spectators seeking transportation onto the golf course due to a permanent disability, as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), should be submitted one week in advance to the PNGA Championship Department. While spectator carts may not always be available at each site, the PNGA will make every effort to accommodate these requests when available.

 

Generally, an ADA covered disability is defined as a “physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more of the major life activities of the individual”. See, 42 USCA §12102. Spectators with a “temporary” injury or impairment that is not an ADA disability will not be allowed use of a golf cart under this Policy.

PULL CARTS

A limited number of pull carts will be available to rent for $5 a day in the golf shop.

 

CADDIES

Host club caddies will not be available. A player may provide her own caddie. Caddies will be required to wear a caddie bib provided on the starting tee.

 

PRIZES
Amateur: Crystal prizes will be awarded as follows:

Stroke Play – A crystal medallion will be awarded to the qualifying Medalist. The Medalist’s name will also be engraved on the Liz Culver Perpetual Trophy.

Match Play – Crystal awards will be presented to the Champion, Runner-up and Semifinalists. The Champion will have her name engraved on the PNGA Women’s Amateur Championship Perpetual Trophy.

 

Mid-Amateur: Crystal prizes will be awarded as follows:

Stroke Play – A crystal medallion will be awarded to the qualifying Medalist. 

Match Play – Crystal awards will be presented to the Champion, Runner-up and Semifinalists. The Women’s Mid-Amateur Champion will also have her name engraved on the PNGA Women’s Mid-Amateur Championship Perpetual Trophy.

 

Awards will also be given to any contestant who scores a hole-in-one or eagle during the stroke play qualifying rounds. 

 

AWARDS CEREMONY

An awards ceremony will take place on the pavilion patio immediately following the completion of the final match in each Championship on Friday, July 17.

 

EXEMPTIONS

The Champion of the Women’s Amateur Championship will receive an exemption into the 2021 PNGA Women’s Amateur Championship.

 

The Champion of the Women’s Mid-Amateur Championship will receive an exemption into the 2021 PNGA Women’s Mid-Amateur Championship.

 

PERFORMANCE POINTS

Performance points may be awarded for the PNGA Women’s Amateur and Women’s Mid-Amateur Championship through the player’s respective state or provincial association.

 

GHIN SCORE POSTING

The PNGA will post competition scores during stroke play qualifying for all players to the USGA GHIN System. Stroke play scores will be submitted to BC Golf for posting in Canada. Players should post their adjusted match play scores.

 

DRESS CODE

Players and caddies must be neat in appearance with respect to personal grooming and clothing while on host club property. The PNGA Dress Code Policy is available at the following link: thepnga.org/championship-home/championship-policies/ and will be provided to all players, along with any additional measures required by the host club, in the Player Memorandum.

 

CODE OF CONDUCT

The PNGA expects all contestants, caddies, gallery, and guests to exhibit proper conduct and behavior on the golf course and anywhere on club property during a PNGA Championship. Unbecoming conduct or behavior may be grounds for immediate disqualification, at any time, from any PNGA event. The following are some examples of unbecoming conduct or behavior:

 

  • Repeated use of loud, abusive, and/or profane language
  • Throwing and/or breaking equipment (club, ball, etc.) in anger or frustration
  • Damaging host club, PNGA, and/or fellow contestant property
  • Public criticism or verbal abuse of host club, officials, volunteers or staff, and/or PNGA volunteers, staff or fellow contestants
  • Potential endangerment of others
  • Intentionally violating stated club policy
  • Violation of PNGA Dress Code and/or Footwear Policy
  • Other conduct deemed unbecoming

 

The Committee in charge of the competition shall be the sole judge of determining Conduct Code violations.
 

UNOFFICIAL WITHDRAWAL

After the entry deadline and during play of the Championship, players must notify the PNGA and state her need to withdraw. Entrants who unofficially withdraw (by not notifying the PNGA or without having sufficient reason) will not be granted entry into any future PNGA Championship for a minimum of two years.

 

PACE OF PLAY POLICY

Players are encouraged to be familiar with the PNGA’s Pace of Play Policies: Stroke Play, Match Play, which are in effect at all championships.

 

LOCAL RULES AND TERMS OF THE COMPETITION

Players are encouraged to be familiar with the PNGA’s 2020 Local Rules and Terms of the Competition, which will be in effect at all championships.

 

PROHIBITED USE OF AUDIO EQUIPMENT

Rule 4.3 is modified in this way: During a round, a player is not allowed to use an electronic device to listen to music or other audio (such as podcasts or the like), including by using speakers, headphones or earbuds. Penalty for breach of Local Rule - see Rule 4.3.
