Player Information: Western Pennsylvania Women’s Amateur Championships

Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at Cranberry Highlands Golf Course in Cranberry Township, PA

 

The competition is 18 holes of stroke play with a field of 22 players. The Women’s Amateur Championship has a field of six (6) contestants. The Women’s Senior Amateur Championship has a field of eight (8) contestants.  The Women’s Super-Senior Amateur Championship has a field of eight (8) contestants.

 

Format—18 Holes of Stroke Play. Play is governed by the USGA Rules of Golf In the event of a tie, a hole by hole playoff will take place on holes to be determined by the Committee.  WPGA HARD CARD


Tee Markers—   Play for the Women’s Amateur will be at roughly 6,000 yards.

                     Play for the Women’s Senior Amateur will be at roughly 5,400 yards.

                              Play for the Women’s Super-Senior Amateur will be at roughly 5,100 yards.

Yardages are contingent upon conditions. 

 

PracticePractice rounds are available by contacting the golf shop at 724-776-7372.  The club manager is Craig Walker.  Arrangements should be made in advance and rates vary.  All practice round fees are the responsibility of the player.
 

Transportation/Caddies— Automotive transportation is permitted for the championship. Players may bring their own caddies if they choose. Cranberry does not have caddies available.  Cart fees are included in the entry fee and no refunds are issued to players who choose to walk.

 

LodgingLodging of various prices can be found in the Cranberry Township area.
 

Food—The WPGA provides water on course, a light continental breakfast and lunch following the round.  All other food and beverage charges are the responsibility of the player.
 

Footwear—METAL CLEATS ARE PROHIBITED--PENALTY IS DISQUALIFICATION.
 

Pace of Play—The maximum allowable time will be four hours and fifteen minutes (4:15).  WPGA Pace of Play Policy

 

Evacuation Plan—In the event of a suspension of play for a dangerous situation, all players should return to the clubhouse immediately.  Note: A suspension for a dangerous situation will be signaled by one prolonged air horn note. All other types of suspension will be signaled by three consecutive air horn notes, repeated. Resumption of play will be signaled by two short air horn notes, repeated.
 

Spectator Info No spectator carts will be permitted for the competition without pre-approved ADA verification. Please contact the WPGA office for ADA guidelines. ADA carts are based on availability.  Spectators may purchase lunches at their own expense.
