2020 MGA NFL Tournament

Description/Format/Rules:

  • Four-man ABCD teams as drafted by the owners at Thursday night’s draft dinner.  Dinner will be for owners only and held on the Veranda to aid social distancing.   A video session will be available to registrants so they can monitor the draft process.
  • AFC & NFC Conferences: There will be two conferences with a North and South Division in each.
  • There will be a tournament limit of 80 players, including the owners.
  • Friday scoring: 2 best Net balls on each hole will count toward the team score.
  • Saturday scoring: 2 best Net balls on all Par 4’s and 5’s, 3 best Net balls on all Par 3’s will count toward the team score.
  • Handicaps: 100% of the Index Revision in effect when sign-ups close,  Course HCP calculated for the courses played and tees selected.
  • Tee selection will be made at time of registration.  Blue, White, White/Gold and Gold will be the available choices.   Once sign-ups close, tee selection cannot be changed.
  • Friday's tee times determined in the order of draft pick, from team 1 through 20.  One Conference will tee off on the front nine in draft pick order while the other Conference tees off concurrently on the back nine in draft pick order.  On Saturday, the two conferences will be teeing off from the first and 10th tees simultaniously as well with the 5th place teams in each Division teeing off first successively through the first place teams in each Division.  This order should result in the minimum wait time between the finish of the round and start of the playoffs for most teams.
  • The pro shop will post all scores as tournament rounds.

  • Top two finishers in each Division will receive payouts.

Conference Playoffs:

The Division winners from each Conference will play against each other on Creek #9, with the 3 low net scores for the team counting toward the team total score. If the playoff results in a tie, there will be a Chip-off on the putting green by the clubhouse to determine a Conference champion.  All team members will chip. The distance from the hole for the two closest chips of each team will be added to determine the winner.

The team's scores for the losing Divisions in the Conference Playoffs will be used to determine 3rd and 4th place.  If the scores for the losing Divisions teams are the same, they will tie and split the pot for 3rd and 4th places.

Super Bowl Playoff: The two Conference Winners will play Creek #9, with the 3 low net scores for the team counting to determine the NFL Tournament Champion.  If a tie results, play will continue on Creek #9 using the same format until a Champion is crowned.

Proximity:

  • Big Canoe Bucks will be paid for closest to the pin awards on all par 3 holes both days.
  • CTP Turbo (Saturday Only) - All participants will be automatically entered into the CTP turbo.   If you would like to opt-out, please let one of the pros know on the first tee at the start of Friday's round.
