The Spring Board Meeting is held in March to complete planning for the upcoming season and assign Tournament Chairs for all club events.  The planned location isTBD beginnning at 6:00PM.  

The Spring Banquet and Membership meeting will be held at TBD on Wednesday, April 22.  The starting time is 6:00PM with dinner at 6:30PM.  The annual spring meeting wil follow.

 

Note:  You must be a paid MMGC member to attend.  If you are not paid by the start of the event you will need to bring cash, a check or credit/debit card to the event.  The MMGC Treasureur and Secretary will be available to process your payment beginning at 6:00PM.

Two-man teams with net best ball along with individual gross and net skins.  All play will be from the "white" tees. 

 

Entry fee is $20 per golfer.  Half of the entry goes to team game and the other half to skins game. 

 

Teams are formed by the tournament chair.  The results of this event do not count toward Player of the Year or club statistics. 

Welcome to Meadowbrook Men's Golf Club first event of the year. 

 

The Early Bird is not an official event.  Entry fee will be $10 with payback for skins by flight and first and second place within each flight.  Skins are gross skins by flight and placement is net.

 

"D" flight players who are age 70+ have the option to play from the "gold" tees.  To request this add a note to the Tournament Chair when you register. Your handicap will be adjusted to match the tee you play.

 

Registrations will be closed at 6PM on April 22.  Late registration requests must be made by phone to TBD.  Late registrants will be wait listed​ and may require another player to  withdraw to be able to play.  If  you need to withdraw you must do so by 6:00PM on Friday, April 24, by calling the Tournament Chair.

• The May Bug is a flighted indiivdual low net event.  The number of players and handicap cutoff for each flight will be determined by the number of registered golfers. 

   

  There will be optional gross skins by flight.

The Memorial Day "Ringer" is a two day event where your net score for each individual hole over the two rounds makes up your "ringer" score.  Skins are paid out for gross skins by flight for each of the two rounds. 

 

A-Flight will play from the blue tees.  B, C and D flights will play from the white tees.  D flight players may select to play from the Yellow tees with the corresponding handicap adjustment.

 

The Memoral Day Ringer has been determined by the MMGC Board of Directors to be a major event with Player of the Year points being doubled.  To earn participation points you will need to play both rounds of the event.

 

Sign ups will be open until 6PM on Thursday, May 20. Tee times begin at 7:00AM both days.  Skins pool fee will be $12 for the two days. Please make any special requests when you sign up.

Ringer 2nd Day.

Presidents Choice Designated Player + 1 Tournament

 

The President's Choice is a 2 out of 4 best ball team event using net scores.  Teams will be created using the MMGC software so that all teams are "competitive".  Requests for specific playing partners will not be available.    

 

Scoring is as follows.  One golfer will be the designated player on each hole.  The "A" players net score will be counted on holes 1, 5, 9, 13, & 17; the "B" players net score will be counted on holes 2, 6, 10, 14 &18.   '"C" on 3, 7, 11 & 15.  "D" on 4, 8. 12 & 16.   The second ball will be the best net score of the three non-designated golfers. 

 

The same scoring method will be used for both finishing order and for skins by hole.  There will be one team closest to the pin on hole 16 with the winning team sharing $60.

 

Note:  D flight players age 70+ will have the option to play from the yellow tees.

The 2020 MMGC Match Play is a bracket tournament with the winner of the Championship flight being named the Meaowbrook Men's Golf Club Match Play Champion.   The Championship flight plays scratch. 

 

Any MMGC member may request to play in the Championship Flight without regard to handicap.  Players with a course handicap of 7 or less from the Meadowbrook blue tees will be placed in the Championship Flight.   

 

There are also B, C and D flight brackets.  These flights are played net using the current handicap at the time of the match.

 

Rounds will be played throughout the 2019 season.  We have planned dates for the first two rounds but matches can be played separately, as long as they are complete by the planned date.

 

Signup will be open thru May, 31.   The first round matches must be complete by end of June.

This event is for golfers playing in the 2019 MMGC Match Play Championship.  It is used to indicate whether you will be playing your first round of the 2019 MMGC Match Play on June 30 as a club event.  You may indicate your willingness to do so by accepting this invite.  Tee times will be set by flight and scorecards created for you match.

The Fireworks Open is a low net tournament with play from the red (holes 1-6) , white (holes 7-12) and blue (holes 13-18) tees.

 

Skins will be gross skins by flight.  Nearies on the par 3s and long putt on holes 5, 9 & 18.

The MMGC Member/Guest Invitational will be held on Sunday, July 12, ​with a shotgun start at 8:00AM.  The format is that each twosome consists of a member and a guest.   

 

If you do not have a guest, you will be paired by the Tournament Chair with another member.  Members may not request to be paired with a specified exitsting member.

 

Inviting a guest is strongly encouraged and the member who plays with a non-member guest will get all of the Player of the Year points earned by their team.  Player of the Year points won by a member/member team wiill be shared by the team.

 

This event is meant to introduce new and prospective new members to the Meadowbrook Men's Golf Club. 

 

The cost for this event is $30 per team for payout/skins/nearees.  Beverages will be available following play.

 

The cutoff date for this event is 6:00PM on July 8.

The MMGC Club Championship is a two day event held on August 8-9.  Signing up for the 8th puts you in both days.

 

The following rules will be applied:

 

The MMGC Club Champion will be the winner of the "A" Championship Flight and will play from the blue tees.  All MMGC golfers are eligilble to compete for the club championship by letting one of the Tournament Chairs know before hand, regardless of handicap, that you want to play in the Championship flight.  All players with a USGA handicap of 7 or less are automatically in the Championship Flight. 

 

The "B, C, D"  flights will play NET and we will recognize both a Gross and Net winner for each flight.  Season points and prizes will be paid based on NET placement.

 

D flight players may optionally play from the yellow tees with appropriate handicap adjustment.

 

Double player of the year points and a larger prize pool.

Second day of Club Championship.

The July 26 event is open to ALL MMGC members, irregardless of age.

 

Members 55+ will automatically be entered in the MMGC Senior Championship.

 

All players, no matter what age, will be entered in the Stableford event.   The Stableford is an event where you earn points for how you shoot relative to par on each hole.   This will be flighted with the normal payouts and skins games.

 

The MMGC Senior Championship will be held in concert with the Stableford tournament on Sunday, July 26.  

 

The sign up deadline is Wednesday,  July 22, at 6PM. 

 

The tournament chair for the Senior Championship is TBD.  The chair for the Stableford is Denny Wollan TBD.

The Labor Day Ringer tournament is played over two days with the best score on each hole for the two days being your score for the event.  Separate skins, nearies and long putt contests will be held each day. 

 

The Labor Day Ringer is a MMGC Major Event which means larger payouts and double player of the year points.  You must play both days to earn points.

 

Registering for the round on Sunday, September 6 will register you for both rounds.  The same tee time will be assigned for both days.

Labor Day Ringer 2nd round.

The Dayton Olson Challenge is the final full field event of the year.  Normally the results of this event are key to the final Player of the Year standing so make sure you keep that in mind.

 

The format is Nassau with payoff for the front nine, back nine and total score. There will be four flights.  All flights play net score with full handicap.  

 

The Tournament Chair is TBD  

The Tournament of Champions (TOC) is open to all MMGC members who finished 1st or 2nd in any flight during any MMGC event during current year. The TOC event is a low net by flight event.  Flight winners from the low net event will then compete in a "shoot-out" with the last man standing winning the shoot-out.

 

Adiditonally, all MMGC players who did not win a 1st or 2nd place during current year are invited to join us to play in the low net event.  These players will not be eligible for the shoot-out but will be eligible for skins/long putt prizes during the low net event.  Further information on the format, cost and payouts will be forthcoming.

 

A list of who is eligible for the Tournament of Champions will be provided before the tournament.

The Meadowbrook Men's Golf Club Fall Banquet and Annual Meeting will be held on October 9 in the Fireside Room at the Hopkin's VFW Post 425, 100 Shady Oak Rd, Hopkins, MN. We have the Fireside Room reserved from 6-9PM.   

 

Dinner will be served around 6:30PM.   The annual meeting will proceed dinner.    The agenda for the Fall Meeting will be sent prior to the meeting.  Payouts for the final events of the year will also be available at the meeting.

This is an add-on event for anyone interested.  Tee times will begin at 12:00 Noon on October 7.

 

The format is two-man best ball with the pairings being randomly selected.  Handicap will be net off the lowest handicap entered for the team event.  There will also be both individual gross and net (full handicap) skins.  The number of places paid will be based on the number of entries.  

 

The cost to enter will be $20/person paid at time of check in.  Payout will be done at the MMGC Fall Banquet at TBD at 6:00 PM.
