2020 McCall 2-Lady Senior Scramble Rules

 

 

Play is governed by the USGA Rules of Golf except where modified by local rules.

 

SCRAMBLE FORMAT

Both players hit tee shots and select the better of the two shots. Both hit second shots from that position. Continue this practice until the ball is holed.  Through the green, both balls may be placed within one (1) club length, no nearer the hole but maintaining the same condition.  (A ball in the rough must remain in the rough after the player has placed the ball.)  A ball on the green may be placed within 6” of the original lie, no closer.

“Through the Green” is the whole of the golf course, excluding all of the hazards and the teeing ground and green of the hole being played.

 

Penalty Areas: Are defined by yellow or red line which affects your relief options.  Rule 17

NOTE:  Drop area behind #1 Aspen may be used for a ball entering the penalty area.

 

Ground under repair: Is all white lined areas, including French drains, (exposed trenches filled with rocks and stones), drain covers, flagged trees, trees supports, and cables.

 

Tees: Champ and 1st flights play the Silver tees, Flights 2 and 3 play the combo tees

 

Player late for starting time:  If a team arrives at their starting point ready to play within 5 minutes of their starting time, the penalty for failure to start on time is 2 strokes.  Penalty for failure to join assigned group by completion of second hole is disqualification.  Rule 5-3

 

Putts:  After a putt is holed out, no other strokes count.  Practice putting is prohibited: penalty 2 strokes.

 

Ball played from a penalty area or bunker: Should a ball be played from a penalty area or bunker, play the original ball as is lies – and place the other ball as near as possible to where the original ball lay.

 

DO NOT TOUCH THE FLAG, 2ND OFFENSE EQUALS DISQUALIFICATION

 

Pace of Play: Pace of play will be monitored to facilitate a 41/2-hour round.  A group falling behind will be warned and given 15 minutes to regain position.  If after 15 minutes they are not in position, slow players will be assessed a 2 stroke penalty.  

 

Foul Weather: Should foul weather cause a cancellation of one of the rounds the scramble will be official after 18 holes.

 

Musical Devices: The playing of musical devices, (phones, iPad, boom box, earbuds) is prohibited.  1st offense – 2 stroke penalty, 2nd offense – disqualification.
