First Responders of The Triad Pro - Am

PRO - AM FORMAT: 18 Hole Texas Scramble.  One Gross Ball + One Net Ball.  The same ball cannot be used, it must be two different balls.  Each competitor will tee off and choose the best tee shot.  The amateurs will select the best drive and play their own ball. All putts counting for the team score must be holed. 

 

PGA Professionals will be playing their own ball for all eighteen holes.  Amateurs can use the PGA Professionals drive for the Texas Scramble Format.  PGA Professionals cannot select an amateurs drive. 

 

PGA PROFESSIONAL COMPETITION: PGA Professionals will be playing for their own purse. Format is a Low Gross Medal Play.

 

TEAM COMPETITION:  Best Gross Ball + Best Net Ball.  We will be paying a 1/3 of the field.  Winnings will be for Greensboro National Gift Certificates.     

 

ON COURSE CONTESTS:  Closest to the Pin's on all Par 3's.  Hole in One prizes on select Par 3's.

 

PREFERRED LIES:  You may lift, clean and place your golf ball one club length in the fairway no closer to the hole. If you are unsure if you are in the fairway consult the advice of the Carolinas PGA Professional in your group.   

 

TEE MARKERS:  PGA Professionals: Blue Tees,  Amateurs: White Tees and Seniors 60+: Gold Tees

 

LATERAL WATER HAZARDS: defined by red stakes or lines, pursuant to Rule 26.  All bridges on golf course property that cross over a marked hazard are also considered part of the hazard.

 

EMBEDDED BALL RULE: Anywhere "through the green," a ball which is embedded in its own pitch mark in the ground, except in loose sand, may be lifted without penalty, cleaned and dropped as near as possible to the spot where it lay but not nearer the hole (appendix I, 5-b)

 

DROP AREAS:  During this event all on course drop areas are not in play and may not be used.

 

RELIEF FROM EXTENSIONS OF CART PATHAll areas next to the cart path consisting of sandy, rocky, or bare areas are deemed to be extensions of the path and are eligible for relief.  Proceed just as you would in taking relief from the cart path.

 

IMMOVABLE OBSTRUCTIONS (RULE 24-2): defined as the following: artificially surfaced cart paths; sprinkler heads; irrigation controllers and control boxes; distance yardage markers (in fairways); utility boxes; and related systems. One-club relief no closer to the hole may be obtained under rule 24-2b.

 

PACE OF PLAY: Individuals in groups out of position may be timed without warning.  Rounds are expected to be played in 4 hours and 30 minutes.

 

ROCK FORMATIONS:  Rock formations are considered an integral part of the golf course. There is no free relief from these areas. Ball must be played as it lies.   

 

OUT OF BOUNDS:  Defined by (a) the inside edge at ground level of white stakes of property stakes, (b) the inside edge of public roads or their curbing.  The local out of bounds rule is in effect.

 

SCORECARD: Return your properly executed scorecard to the scorer's table located in the main dining room of the clubhouse.
