After a quick video meeting after the latest “stay-at-home” and “stay-safe-at-home” orders came down from various agencies, the Board of Directors agreed that, even though these very weird times, we can get our competition season started.

 

VERY IMPORTANT! Lots of things will be different in these very weird times. Everyone MUST comply with the CommonGround Golf Course COVID-19 policies and procedures. Those can be found at www.commongroundgc.com. Those who disregard these policies and procedures are subject to having your playing privileges suspended or terminated by the course or the club or both.

 

The published calendar that you may have seen earlier in the year has been changed. We will use the Golf Genius Calendar going forward.

In Golf Genius, please login to Golf Genius using your username and password, or the GGID “AVXZNY” then go to “Tournament Info,” then “Calendar, Information and Signups.” This is available from a web browser on your computer or from the app on your device. Go to Member Portal first. We will not email you a new schedule document.

 

From this page, after you are logged in, you can also enter an event if you are not already entered and you can withdraw yourself from an event if you can no longer can play. You can check to see whether you are entered in an event or not. This page will tell you when events will open and close for registrations. Click on “More Info” to the right for specifics on each event. This page will be dynamic for a while as we implement changes.

 

Many things will remain the same. The Points Chase, The two Ringer Competitions, The CG Cup event based on points, entry fees, prize money, etc. are all unchanged. I will send out a separate update with more policy-type information.

 

We are going with only individual events this year to keep it simple (except the Member Guest.) If you have an idea for a format that is individual golf, but different than straight-up stroke play, please drop your idea(s) here.    Click Here  

 

 

Notable calendar updates, changes and cancellations to the schedule:

 

Both season long match play tournaments, Singles and Fourball, have been cancelled.

The Member-Guest has been moved to August 15 and 16. The Horserace on Aug 14 TBD.

The Club Championship has been moved to September 19 and 20.

 

May 23 has been modified from a team event to an individual event.

July 11 will be a regular one day event. No event July 12.

We are likely to add one more event in September (Sept 13 ? ) before the Club Championship. 

The yet-to-be-inaugural Ryder Cup event in October has been cancelled.

The last two events of the season are moved up to Oct 17 and Oct 31.

 

I will have one more update by e-mail policy stuff, and then the email frequency from me should drop down. Thanks for rolling with us as we try to make the best of a very odd situation for all of us.
