New policy
For the June 6 event we had more than 25 members who registered and paid, but then withdrew before we got to the event. This is very high in the pain in the butt department.
In the past we have issued refunds less a fee for transaction costs. That volume has become too much to manage.
In response to this, two changes.
First, we will wait a week longer to open events up for registration. Automatic invitations will go out on Sunday mornings 3 weeks ahead of the event instead of 4. (For example, invitations for July 11 won’t go out until June 21.) That leaves two weeks to get registered for an event.
Second – starting with the July 11 event -- NO REFUNDS. You still owe us the courtesy of pulling yourself out if you can’t play, but we will not be issuing refunds. Not being able to manage your own calendar is on you, not on the club. In cases of family or medical emergencies, credit will be offered to either of the last two events in October.
With full events and waiting lists w/d’s after the registration deadline (Monday of the week we play) or even worse – no shows on tournament day – just can’t happen.
